Revolutions have happened and shall happen again

Industrial revolution, White revolution, Green revolution, American revolution etc have happened in the history and have been recorded very strongly. Massive rapid changes have taken place due to such revolutions which have completely changed the face of nations. If revolutions have occured in the previous past then it is obvious that revolutions shall take place in the future also. Revolutions took place when masses were worn out with the recurring odd times and few couraged up to lead all of them to fight the system and change it for the better. So if you're frustrated with the number of odd things happening around then just get ready for one more revolution.

Every system is designed to be in a stable state and only then equilibrium can exist to maintain the required balance. But disturbances are bound to occur in any system. So when such perturbances penetrate the system, it slides to one side. This goes on until the tipping point when the system is about to completely fail and become extinct and that is the exact point when the threshold of pain is reached by the majority existing in the system. Since never any system can become obsolete, it has to be brought back to balance where majority in the system are happy with the system. At such times occur revolutions which restore the harm caused through decades in a matter of few years. The only deceiving part of a revolution is that people will not even have an idea when it is about to occur which they least expected in their entire lifetime.

It is a disheartening fact today to hear that people have even lost the hope that the world shall change into a better one due to regular bad things that are happening around day in and day out. If Mahatma Gandhiji had given up his hopes upon Indian freedom within first ten years of his freedom struggle, then probably we wouldn't have got our freedom during 1947 itself. If Mother Theresa had given up hopes on serving the numerous patients then probably the world wouldn't have known the real meaning of 'service to mankind'. The reason they created a revolution in what they did was because they believed in their vision and fought every circumstance to bring it into reality. Hence amidst the millions who have lost hope on positive change in this world, you have to decide whether you still want to remain in those millions or want to step ahead into the group of those few who shall create a revolution that shall change the life of those millions for the better because revolutions are bound to happen. Respect commitments to the self

Commitments are the most important promises that we make to ourselves and to others. Commitments are also used in certain other different scenarios such as personal commitments or family commitments or business commitments where in sometimes they are not just promises but are contracts or dire necessities without fulfilling which the life cannot proceed in a sound manner. If we expect someone else to believe in our commitments, we must first believe in us that we will live upto the commitments that we make to ourselves.

New year resolutions are some of the common commitments that people make to themselves and hardly few percentage of them are ever fulfilled throughout entire lifetime. It all depends upon how much of respect that we give to our own words. I still remember an example wherein Mahatma Gandhiji had stopped eating jaggery for some days just to advise a son of His disciple not to eat jaggery, because Bapu felt that if he couldn't stop eating jaggery, he couldn't advise someone else on the same lines. So he took a commitment to Himself that he wouldn't eat jaggery. The prime motive of His was to lead by example and hence he respected even this small commitment to himself though the situation would have got resolved by He just adivsing the little boy. Just because of his commitment to lead by example he could forfeit his desire for jaggery. Such should be the respect that we give to our commitments. Sometimes we make commitments out of motivation during a small period of time and after that motivation subsides we start disregarding our own commitments and break them. The reason for this is that we forget the reasons for our motivation that we had sometime back. So how do we make sure that we don't break these commitments?

If you can live upto the commitments that you make to oneself then you can easily fulfil the commitments made to others. Hence I will talk or rather write about just three simple steps to make sure that we respect and fulfil the commitments made to the self. First, write down the reasons for you taking up any commitment and preserve this to read and re-read everytime you are working towards this commitment irrespective of whether you have or have lost the motivation. If you have lost the motivaion, reading will trigger it back, if you still have the motivation it will just multiply by re-reading the reasons for the same. Second, there will be certain instances when you will be dragged away by negative forces such as laziness or ill health or disinterestedness or disturbed feelings due to which even reading doesn't bring back the motivation. At these circumstances, just remember that by breaking the commitment you are going to further worsen the situation and just by doing the small work required will definitely make the situation better. Its a simple human psychology which always becomes happy when you do something that you think you cannot do. Third, the belief inside us in ourselves grows everytime we stand for what we speak. We don't have to make big commitments to change the country or the society or the world. Small simple commitments that we make to change ourselves positively can be more than sufficient to cast an impact towards global betterment because you are bound to definitely influence this character of yours into others around you.

Everyday blogging is one of the small commitments that I make to myself and fulfil but sometimes when I fail to do so, I come back with double the efforts to cover up the past failure. Hope to know your stories on self-commitments on is.mohanbn@gmail.com

Nothing is permanent. Really?

In one of the forwarded emails I found this message as ‘Nothing is permanent’. The example used to depict this message was that of Arnold Shwarzenegger. There were two photos of his in the mail. First photo showed Arnold in his best physique when he had won the Mr.Olympia title in the sport of  bodybuilding. The second photo was a recent picture of Arnold in his sixties. The fun part was the creator of this mail was trying to convey the message that the muscles that Arnold had built up during his twenties were no more at the age of sixties. Hence he concluded the message that ‘Nothing is permanent’ and forwarded it. I don’t know how many more were logically blind enough to believe in this and forward the same.
It is general knowledge that a human body deteriorates as age progresses. In fact as per scientific research it has been found that humans lose half a pound of muscle every year after the age of 25. This fact has been reproduced by Arnold Shwarzenegger himself in his book ‘The Education of a Bodybuilder’. No one has ever proclaimed that the human body once built to the best form of physique will remain the same forever. Not even the best of the best bodybuilders like Arnold or Ronnie Coleman for that matter. So I really don’t understand the sense behind coming to a conclusion that ‘Nothing is permanent’ which is completely invalid. Probably if the person who concluded this has done so on the basis of physical forms we can accept it only for physical forms of entities only. Let me take Arnold’s example itself. When Arnold entered the field of bodybuilding, he redefined the field itself with young achievements, his new techniques and created a record history of titles. He brought much respect to this sport which people complained about previously. These achievements of his will forever remain permanently in the pages of world history unless there is a burn out of the earth itself. All of us know that life is mortal but the impact of the work done during one’s life remains. Mahatma Gandhiji is no more but his struggle for Indian freedom and the title of ‘Father of India’ will remain permanently forever.
Friends! My sincere request to my dear readers is not to fall for such brainless forwards and come to improper conclusions. It really hurts when one single mail tries to zero out all of the achievements of great men like Arnold or be it anyone else for that matter. Let’s extract positive lessons out of others’ lives and implement them in our life instead of drawing such pessimistic conclusions which won’t even motivate us to work further.

People shall fight

All of us are aware that we need to work to get what we desire for. In one of my previous blogs I had spoken about working and as well as making sure that this work is projected well to yield the result that it deserves. You can refer the blog 'Project your work' for your reference. When one is not rewarded for what one deserves, I had mentioned that one should fight for it and even that is a part of his work. Just 2 days later after writing this blog a superb thought struck my mind which said that when one has genuinely given his best not just him the world around him shall fight for his reward.

A very simple yet profound example that I would like to bring to your notice today is that of Mahatma Gandhiji. He struggled and fought for the freedom of India. When He was arrested by the British no doubt that he fought to get out in order to continue the freedom struggle but even the people fought for the release of the Mahatma. When there were Hindu-Muslim riots happening Gandhiji went on satyagraha without taking any food. Even at that time people fought to stop the fight just for the sake of Gandhiji. The current example we can talk about is Sri Anna Hazare who went on Satyagraha to fight corruption on his own will and wish. People joined hands to end the Satyagraha taken up by Anna by fighting against the government to take reforms to end corruption. I have seen so many posts on facebook wherein people share about the struggle that any person is going through and seek support of all their friends to help that person though they are not even connected to the struggling person directly. I still remember one of the unforgettable incidents in my past in schooldays when I was slapped by the principal for no fault of mine. At that time though my self-defence couldn't resolve the situation completely, it was few friends of mine who stood by me and proved my innocence regarding the incident. When you are RIGHT people shall fight for you.

Remember folks! keep continuing your genuine work irrespective of the results and the opinions of people. Give your best to what you're doing and keep an account of all that you're doing as well. World has become a nasty place that asks for your Life certificate though you're standing in front of it alive. So you will have to fight to get what you deserve. When you are contributing your work towards the progress of the people around you, be very sure and happy that the people around you shall fight for what you deserve.

Uncommon from the common

Probably you're still wondering as to what the title means. Before proceeding let me make it clear that this blog might not apply to all. Generally I write blogs which are generic enough which can be felt and experienced by almost all the people in all the situations but this blog is going to be an exception. This blog is dedicated to those exclusive set of people who feel they are quite different from the general public around. Some individuals exist who don't care about the norms of the society having a very high level of thinking and find it quite difficult to get down to the level of ordinary man's thinking. If you're one among these, you need not feel odd about it as I have the solution for you.

Sometime back when I was watching an interview of Dr.Kamal Hassan in a management college he made a statement something similar to this (as I don't remember the exact words) - "At the age of 22 I thought that I was the lonely genius in this world and wanted to commit suicide but later I got down to the level of the world around and started my work". I also had had conversations with few other exceptional people in their career and success who shared the same feeling. They felt they were really talented and skilled enough and that the surrounding world didn't understand their value. I am not talking about aliens here. Some of us are like this right from our childhood. The silly ego competitions among common men don't interest us, we have some of the most brilliant ideas and thoughts that the general public doesn't even understand, we think quite different and positive than the existing pessimistic world which is always under the fear of survival. When we discuss certain topics with ordinary people, they can't even match the plane of thinking and the talk which just irritates us. When Mahatma Gandhiji announced that he would get freedom through non-violence, no doubt that people laughed at him. In today's world if you go out and say that you're equivalent to Mahatma Gandhiji in terms of thinking and work, people discard it as either you're crazy or just casting your pride around. No one seems to accept when you declare yourself as a genius. But the worst part is we know what we are and that we are right about it and hence can't take any rejections in this regard.

The world is foolish enough to buy aerated drinks just because a physically fit actor advertises for it who never uses it. If you average out the IQ of the world you will find very few geniuses and a large number of stupids, eventually due to which the IQ of the world falls even below average. So just don't worry as to how the world treats your credibility or beliefs. The world understands only factual results. There is no wrong in thinking yourself as the best in the world or the lonely genius as sir says. Just keep patience not to expect any acceptance of the same until you use your ideas and knowledge to create the unimaginable results that the world has never witnessed. All the best to those exceptional people around the globe!!!!!

A strange different concept that I wanted to share. Eager enough to get the response from the exceptional geniuses on is.mohanbn@gmail.com

Listen to what you talk

Thanks to the Almighty who has blessed humans with wonderful sense organs and also has given the right usage to each one of them. Even animals have tongue but they can't use it to talk like us. Barring a few exceptions of people with special abilities most of us are lucky enough to have this wonderful ability to talk and communicate with ourselves and with others. We keep talking the whole day with our family, relatives, friends, colleagues and sometimes strangers as well. Sometimes we chatter even while sleeping and indeed its fun to watch those who do this. There is a famous saying that our thoughts become our words and our words become our actions. Probably its too difficult to control our thoughts but my question is can we control what we talk?

We chat about innumerable topics and gossips, we talk about cinema, politics, religions, opinions, sports and trillion of other topics. Most of the times our thoughts just get converted into words and flow out of our mouth. There is no check in between whether what we are talking is going to make some sense or not. Also our ears are not placed in front of our mouth, they are placed on either sides of it far from it. Seldom our ears actually listen to what we say. They are more inclined towards listening to what the others have to say. Even physically its tough to bring your ears near your mouth. I was just thinking, had it been the case somehow that our ears would have been the first to listen to whatever we spoke then this world would have been rid of half of the talk pollution that exists now. The ability to talk is called in Sanskrit as 'Waakchhakthi'. I probably couldn't write in sanskrit here. 'Waak' means to talk, 'shakthi' means power, both combine to give the word 'Waakchhakthi' which means the Power to Talk. In the autobiography of Mahatma Gandhiji, he explains how he used this power of talking so well that his silence and his words were both equally powerful enough to help him become powerful to lead huge masses. Even Rajnikanth explains that when you're silent, people wait to listen to you talking and when you talk they give their full concentration. Also the weightage to the words of a guy who speaks less is more than that for others who keep blabbering always. Use your power to talk wisely.

Feedback loop is one of the best ways to drive ourselves towards perfection. I suggest you to listen to what you talk. Pay complete attention to what you're saying, record it and play it again in your mind and try if you can find a better way of saying the same. This will not only improve your efficiency but will also fill the necessary power into your words. When you analyse what you want to speak, you will definitely convey more in less words. This will strengthen your mental ability as well. Silence has power, control yourself from blabbering unnecessary speeches because people characterize you by the way you speak. Don't allow yourself to become a chatterox, listen to yourself- what you talk to others and what you talk to yourself in your mind. Filter off the junk and produce the required right combination. Lets utilize Waakchhakthi - the power to talk in the best way possible.
