Another dream to share

Bodybuilding has been one of my prime areas of focus. I have even written a blog about how self-defence needs to be taught at school level itself. Combining these two fired up one more thought which became one more dream of mine which I want to share with my dear audience today. Today was filled with thoughts and discussions about dreams and hence I am continuing the same tonight.

I have searched for bodybuilding tips on internet and have often found most of the websites featuring bodybuilders from different countries other than my own country ie., India. Hence I used to have a dream that I should help Indian bodybuilders to get websites and market themselves and their ideas using the online medium. Probably the same is true in other countries where computer education is a little low. Since physical fitness is very important for a healthy lifestyle, everyone needs to get into physical training. To serve so many customers, obviously there need to be good number of trainers at least in the ratio of 20 customers: 1 trainer. All the people should have access to their trainers websites and gyms for their physical training. To accommodate every single citizen in gyms, there should be a lot of gyms, probably at the rate of every street having a gym. I even read that Arnold Schwarzenegger had once dreamt that there would be more gyms than supermarkets in USA. His dream motivated me as it clearly synced with that of mine.

Once there are enough number of gyms such that everyone gets physical training, people become stronger. Most of the parents don't enroll their kids into martial arts or any other self-defence classes because of the fear of their kids getting hurt. Once every kid is strong with daily work-out at the gym and play, even parents shall have more confidence and less fear in enrolling their children for self-defence classes. Eventually our coming generations shall become physically strong and the entire population shall be so strong that there cannot be any physical assault by bullies on anyone since everyone knows how to defend themselves and help others in trouble. This shall lead to an empowered nation is what my mind imagines and believes in. Please feel free to share your feedback on is.mohanbn@gmail.com

The glory of the story

"The glory is always hidden between the lines of the story" is the quote from the book 'Life Simplified!' by Sujit Lalwani, international inspirational speaker, OYW Ambassador. It is absolutely impossible for anyone to word out every moment and every emotion into a story. If done so, s/he will never be able to complete the story. Hence most of the times only the facts form the lines of the story. What lies in between these lines is the actual struggle which is the real reason for the glory of the story.

I am sure you would have either heard or read of many success glorious stories of great men and women. All such stories extend in length from a paragraph to a book. Despite the length, each such story tries to encompass the decades of years lived by the person. While doing so, only the very important notable information is brought out in the words of the story. If it's an autobiography, even the person writing shall only extract those lines from his/her life with which the readers can relate and coins them in the story. In the case of a biography, you can be sure that it cannot contain the complete information except for that which is already known to the world and few interviews from the person. In any of these cases, the real struggle, feelings and emotions are always hidden from the eyes of a normal reader. Only the decisions taken and the problems undergone are mentioned in the lines of the story. So only those special readers who can read the emotions and intentions between the lines of these factual information can see the real glory of the person.

A very simple example is that of Arnold Shwarzenegger. He mentions about his workouts, competitions, gym buddies, business learnings, ideals and more in his book 'The education of a bodybuilder'. When he mentions  about how he trained regularly for 4-5 hours continuously for 15 years, if you can imagine how he would have fought all the inert laziness and external discouragement day in and day out then you have discovered the glory lying between the lines of his story. Nothing is permanent. Really?

In one of the forwarded emails I found this message as ‘Nothing is permanent’. The example used to depict this message was that of Arnold Shwarzenegger. There were two photos of his in the mail. First photo showed Arnold in his best physique when he had won the Mr.Olympia title in the sport of  bodybuilding. The second photo was a recent picture of Arnold in his sixties. The fun part was the creator of this mail was trying to convey the message that the muscles that Arnold had built up during his twenties were no more at the age of sixties. Hence he concluded the message that ‘Nothing is permanent’ and forwarded it. I don’t know how many more were logically blind enough to believe in this and forward the same.
It is general knowledge that a human body deteriorates as age progresses. In fact as per scientific research it has been found that humans lose half a pound of muscle every year after the age of 25. This fact has been reproduced by Arnold Shwarzenegger himself in his book ‘The Education of a Bodybuilder’. No one has ever proclaimed that the human body once built to the best form of physique will remain the same forever. Not even the best of the best bodybuilders like Arnold or Ronnie Coleman for that matter. So I really don’t understand the sense behind coming to a conclusion that ‘Nothing is permanent’ which is completely invalid. Probably if the person who concluded this has done so on the basis of physical forms we can accept it only for physical forms of entities only. Let me take Arnold’s example itself. When Arnold entered the field of bodybuilding, he redefined the field itself with young achievements, his new techniques and created a record history of titles. He brought much respect to this sport which people complained about previously. These achievements of his will forever remain permanently in the pages of world history unless there is a burn out of the earth itself. All of us know that life is mortal but the impact of the work done during one’s life remains. Mahatma Gandhiji is no more but his struggle for Indian freedom and the title of ‘Father of India’ will remain permanently forever.
Friends! My sincere request to my dear readers is not to fall for such brainless forwards and come to improper conclusions. It really hurts when one single mail tries to zero out all of the achievements of great men like Arnold or be it anyone else for that matter. Let’s extract positive lessons out of others’ lives and implement them in our life instead of drawing such pessimistic conclusions which won’t even motivate us to work further.

Tribute to the LIKER of HITLER

Arnold Schwarzenegger has been one of the few inspirations who has proved that hardwork and clear ambitions can take a human to climb the ladders of success one after the other. From being a soccer player in a school team in Austria he went on to become the 38th governor of California state. He has played different roles of life like bodybuilder, actor, businessman, investor, politician etc.

Arnold known as "The Austrian Oak" during his bodybuilding days was inspired seeing photos of bodybuilders in magazines. He was a guy who wanted recognition which he couldnt find in team sports. As a result of which he made a shift to individual sport, bodybuilding. He got addicted to it and went on to become Mr.Universe at a very young age of just 20. This required lot of hardwork, patience, discipline, perseverence all of which were rendered by Arnold to the sport with complete dedication. Arnold has lost only 3 times in his bodybuilding career but all the 3 times he was awarded the 2nd prize. He learnt lessons from each of these defeats against Chet Yorton, Frank Zane and Sergio Olivia and created a track record of 7 times Mr.Olympia title winner.

After proving that he was best in bodybuilding he entered Hollywood. He initially acted in action-oriented roles but later expanded his acting skills even into comedy genre. Indeed it was a tough time for him to learn english and speak fluently being an Austrian but the name is Arnold, synonym of GROWTH. He impressed his audience and even established the superstar status in movies. Then in the later part of his career he jumped into politics only to give back to the society what it had given him during his earlier days. He also expanded his horizons in business and investment and no doubt that he has been quite successful in them too.

Initially, he was influenced by bodybuilding but later he became an inspiration for bodybuilding field itself and has proven the time paradigm shift of inspiration. He conducts Arnold Expo every year comprising of competitions of all sorts of sports to encourage sportsmen/women all over the world. The good news is that shortly Arnold Shwarzenegger would be in Mumbai, India participating in the bodybuilding competition for Mr.India.

Arnold always wanted to become someone like Hitler or Jesus with the power to influence masses and be an extraordinary personality in the world and the history is the proof that he has accomplised it. One simple yet big lesson from the life of Arnold is "GROWTH".
