Project your work

World is not as good as we presume it to be. There are people around us who are just here to use us for their personal benefits. Many of us follow the culture of modesty. Also if one talks about his/her own work or achievements people consider that person to be egoistic. Hence many concede their work to themselves and don't project it to the outside world. This is the pit that we dig for ourselves. If you have to get what you deserve then you must show what you have done as well, however small the work may be because ultimately you have done it.

Make a note of every minute work that you do which you're suppose to report to someone else. If you're working for yourself then you will have this data as a progress chart of your own work. On the other hand, when we are reporting to someone else we tend to report only the major things as we think that the smaller ones could have been done by anyone and its not correct to expect credit for it. Let me reassure you my dear friend, however smaller the work is, work is work which has to be done by somebody. If you've done it then there is no point not showcasing it and getting the reward it deserves however small even the reward might be. Every minute, every effort of yours is precious which gets invested in doing any amount of work and you definitely deserve the credit for it. There are very few people whom you may find if you're lucky enough who will recognise your hardwork and reward you accordingly. Rest of the world is here to just eat you up to maintain and promote their own positions.

Last but not the least, your job doesn't end at just reporting every work that you have done. The next and final step is to prove that you deserve the reward for your accomplishments of work and getting it. Even the fighting for what you deserve is a step to be completed to completely get what you need to get. You have to develop this skill as well to respect your own work. In the process you have to be stern enough to tell the other person not to cheat you. So don't mind of any emotional hurt when you're asking for your right.

Surprise the saboteur

It was a long tiring day continued to night but I just don't feel that tiredness when I come online for blogging to share the lesson of the day with my dear pals. We humans have a tuned mindset in many regards. Few of them are like we follow certain things only if they are interesting enough else however valuable they are we neglect them, we celebrate success and victories and enjoy every bit of it but we are totally sad and depressed whenever we face a defeat. We are happy when we are praised and angry when fought with. This world is not pure enough to leave you to play as per your wishes. There are checkpoints everywhere where people want to just take the advantage of you, cheat you, deceive you or do any kind of wrong thing against you. Such people are called as saboteurs, people who ruin stuff. Generally our reaction towards such people is that of hatred, anger, silence, disrespect and other hard feelings. How would it be if we surprise these saboteurs!!!!!!!!

You might be just wondering that this idea is strangely against the norms of normal human behaviour. Infact the title itself is in contrast trying to connect two solstitial ends. On one hand there is surprise which depicts a positive feeling while on the other is the saboteur which indicates the negative impression. When 98% of them follow the normal ordinary customs, 2% out of the crowd change the direction to create a new result and that's what this title is all about. I am damn sure that you would have heard that whenever there is any tough situation- "respond but don't react". Reaction is something that is spontaneous but response is something that you choose. Whenever there is any argument or any fight, bad feelings immediately follow the situation between the two parties. If you're one of these parties then take the way that 2% of the population will take. If you're sure that you were very clean with your intentions and actions then surprise back the opposite party which was a saboteur putting you into disgrace. Show no sign of disrespect or any hard feeling with respect to the person who actually made the mistake of putting you into trouble. Instead show a wide smiling face filled with energy. Accept the wrong done to you and work to better the situation. If possible even help the opposite saboteur to benefit from your actions. Just forget the harm done and behave as if you really never spotted the negative done to you by the saboteur. Get along with him/her as if everything is just normal and all was normal before as well. Concentrate on driving a far more better friendlier relation with the same person.

Probably the last few sentences of the previous paragraph might have confused you a little. Let me explain friends that we live in a very small world. Though the earth bears a 700 crore plus population our world is comprised of those few hundreds whom we know and interact with only. What is the point in carrying negative feelings and emotions against this small subset of the world. More than harming anyone else we are just harming ourselves. Forgive and forget and move on to make things better. The place you give for one negative emotion in your heart means the same denied for one positive emotion. Lets avoid this. The moment you surprise your saboteur with the good feelings, you also give a chance to him/her to learn a lesson. His anger can only fight with your anger but not with your sweet smile. Even that person has to lose the battle of ego clash infront of the love that you shower because his guilt of betraying you will be clearly visible in the mirror of your genuinity. All of us together contribute to the happiness quotient of this earth. Let's make our best efforts to increase it to cross the limits.

When cheated to save

Once upon a time the ancient English empire had arranged a voyage for the elite class of United Kingdom. The clergymen, business stalwarts, sportsmen and other classes of people were boarding the ship for the first ever time in their life and they had paid huge sum for this amazing 5000km ocean trip which included every kind of entertainment possible and the food feast was arranged by the best chefs of England. The trip was scheduled for 30 days and every common man of the Victorian land was dreaming of this kind of a trip in their future births atleast. The arrangements for this event which was the first of its kind ever had gone on for six consecutive months and more than a thousand labour was entitled for this task. The ship itself was loaded with five hundred staff for serving three hundred people.

Obviously for such a high valuable voyage the Captain who was appointed was the best of that time. He had an experience of hundreds of water travels. He was assigned the highest titles of England for his service to the nation. He had his best preparations made before the start of this fabulous journey and had all the maps which could help him during the travel. He had mastered the usage of the then available instruments which were necessary to have the best measurements of current flow, wind speed and direction and other important elements. With all these ready the magnanimous journey began with the flashes of light which filled the sky. Celebrations were going on the deck as the journey began. Dance, songs, games were the nature of play. Some spiritual people were inclined towards speeches by clergymen. Almost ten days passed like this when there went up a red signal in the sky all of a sudden. A very loud siren rang to deafen the sound of music and shouts of people. Everyone on board was shocked and were in panic. Then the captain came upon the dance stage to announce to the crowd the most awaited reason for the recent happenings. He begged apology first to let the people know that there had been breakage in the ship's base due to improper maintenance and water was sneaking in through the cracks and informed that the trip had to be abruptly stopped to make the return to the shore in concern of safety of the voyagers. The audience were in no mood to listen to this excuse to cancel the most awaited trip of the century and demanded a fix to the problem than to end the excitement of the trip. There were arguments bouncing between the Captain and the crowd. Everyone on the ship was disheartened finally to lose the battle and agreed to turn their back on the trip and as per his request people helped the staff to throw out the water that was entering the ship slowly through the leakage points. The most hated 'U' turn had been taken.

Upon reaching the shore back home the sad travellers were welcomed back by their family to listen to their unlucky trip. The law and order of the land had ordered a severe punishment to the Captain for being reckless about the ship's maintainence. Everyone was furious against the Captain. All his titles were to be stripped off the next day of the return. When the Captain was given the last chance in the court to defend himself he told that he had cheated the people. He repeated "I cheated to save them" and disclosed the true reason behind the cracks in the ship's base was none other then he himself. He had made those cracks. Everyone in the court was awestruck listening this. Then the Captain explained that he had seen a very big iceberg right just few kilometres away from the ship covered under the fog through his telescope and knew that there would be no escape from hitting it if the ship continued forward. He explained from his earlier rough encounters with the scary nature that on such occasions you really never know how many more obstacles stand ahead. The temperature might really go low enough to solidify the blood or more icebergs can raise above the water level and contruct the passage. He knew that he couldn't prove his intuitions to the people on the ship until they saw it through their bare eyes. That's when he decided an alternate way of convincing people to return back home and made the cracks in the ship. He apologised to the people for being crude enough not to disclose the real reason instead cheat them only to save them. Everyone were in tears just imagining of what would have happened to them if it was not for the Captain's presence of mind and later everyone thanked him for saving their lives to move on with the life which was saved the Captain.

Self-Cheat > Else-Cheat

Probably everyone one of us in this world is a cheater. At one point or the other in our life we have cheated. Please dont get me wrong. I am not blaming anyone here. Its the basic instinct of any living being on this earth to take the easier path. Seldom do we select the longer and harder path for any of our tasks. I am not against taking easier paths. Any sane mind would always choose the simpler and easier way of doing something than the harder one. But one thing we need to be cautious is that we are not breaking any rules of the game while going for the easier shortcut. Would we take the same shortcut if the monitor of the task is right in front of us? If the answer is YES, cheers! carry on but if the answer is NO, then you have started cheating.

In life we would have witnessed innumerable people who cheat others for different kinds of reasons. They always feel that they were just intelligent enough to fool the other person but they are absolutely wrong. They have forgotten that in the process of cheating someone else they had cheated their own conscience. Lets bring down the level of cheating now. Forget cheating others there are numerous instances when we cheat ourselves. If we can win over this self-cheater we can win over the evil devil of cheating others.

We would have decided that we will be on a diet for next one month but the sight of junk food makes us cheat ourselves to eat it. We would have decided to study for 4 continuous hours but the news of sports update cheats us into watching the game for one hour. We would have committed to work extra in office but the peopleless environment pushes us out of the seat to cheat our own commitment. You would have promised your mom to complete the housework but the thought of your friends partying makes you forget the promise. All the above instances may seem so natural and too silly to be discussed. If so, its how silly you take your own word. If you can cheat yourself, you can cheat anybody in this world.

The choice of cheating the self and taking the alternative path may bring momentary pleasure but never contentment. Try to challenge this inner cheating sense for once. There will be dilemma and negotiation in the mind between you and yourself for sometime but once this confusion subsides you will be able to see the clear path of fulfilling the commitment and the eternal happiness of having self-control rejuvinated. Instance by instance when you grow stronger through this experience of cheating-self versus yourself fight, you will achieve the highest level of self-control. From then on you will never have to yield to the excusitis syndrome and will be able to fulfill every commitment that you make to yourself or others.

After all , life is all about commiting to your dreams and fulfilling them which never gives an option to cheat yourself.
