Only conviction drives the vision

Commitment to work and dedication of time and efforts are the most essential requirements to reach our goals in life. Goals can range from being unrealistic dreams to rational visions. It all depends upon the individual who holds these dreams and visions in his eyes. He has the ultimate power of converting thoughts into reality. Fortunately or unfortunately, man doesn't realize the strength of this power unless he uses it once and that one time implementation requires thorough conviction. Conviction alone can drive visions into reality.

Conviction is all about sitting and doing the task at hand irrespective of whether it is interesting or not. Conviction deals with more of completion of the activity rather than the liking or the disliking of it. Starting different kinds of work is easy because there is the assistance of the initial curiosity or the beginner's luck. Sustaining is the challenging part and taking the work to completion is the toughest challenge. However, the mere decision of making up the mind for something so massive, can only be the result of taking commitment. A commitment is always kept up to because of conviction and hardwork. No matter how much time or energy it takes , one must make up his mind without even getting such distractions.

There are different ways to raise back your conviction. Have a mentor who can spot the flaw points in you without any doubts or questions. Develop the habit of reading more books because they are the sources of knowledge and wisdom. The vision towards which you're driving must be more important than the intermediate results. Only then will the conviction be able to drive us far ahead in life to accomplish all that we dream of.

Practical entrepreneurship

With the advent of internet, opportunities to be your own boss sitting at home have increased multifold. Information is available just a click away and resources to build a company are easily accessible at your doorsteps by way of ordering at your fingertips. The craze of owning something has forgone a long way more than just mere desire to form a kind of psychological lock. One who doesn't have to take others orders is considered to be great. As a result of all such factors, today's youth is jumping into entrepreneurship without having any practical insight into it just out of excitement. MBA books have introduced so many complicated terms just by knowing which people believe that they can become entrepreneurs.

Today, the word 'entrepreneur' has taken up various forms for people in different fields. For working people, entrepreneurship turns into something called intrapreneurship. For people in fields other than business there's a wide variety to choose from such as social entrepreneurship, political entrepreneurship, knowledge entrepreneurship and a lot more. In any form of entrepreneurship the most important thing to be taken care of is practicality. Any work can be printed on paper and conceptualized to the best idealistic extent. The true roots of success or failure can only be witnessed when we jump into the practical field of implementation of the intended idea. I have heard so many MBA students who come to the conclusion by the time they start working that they just need to take all their textbooks, tear them apart and throw away once they are in the real world. Books were written based on the real world scenario of the past.

Having graphs of thousands of dollars scaling their way up with every passing year or charting out tables and pie-charts indicating the expected investments or the profit/loss statements do not alone suffice to build a practical B-plan. One has to get a first hand experience on field about business, about working with people, about understanding the relationship between demand and supply and many more practical aspects related to business. Without basic understanding for at least a couple of years one will only be devastated to see his/her paper plans crushing down into ashes if the practicality of implementation is sidelined. Let's get realistic friends!

Remembering noteworthy dates

Birthdays, festivals, wedding anniversaries, dates of joining and
leaving jobs, dates of starting new careers and many more such noteworthy and important dates form the different dots of our lives that we connect later. Unfortunately due to the growing number of such dates, it's seldom easy to remember all of them.

However if we make a small effort to remember such important dates it can make a whole lot of difference for those who are also concerned with those important dates. Just this evening, I had a small experience which made me realise the importance of remembering dates. I was working on developing my new skill, when I got a call from the institution for which I work as a teacher. The lady on the other side was asking for some information about my qualification and also asked about my date of joining the institution for which I responded with the exact date. She was astonished and smiled which I couldn't see but only sense. She was surprised that I remembered the exact date of joining the institution. It happens with many of us many a times when we are really surprised when far off friends remember our birthdays and wish us when we least expected.

People have special feelings associated with dates. A simple example to cite is that of lovers who remember the time as well as the date when the boy proposed the girl, the first time they went out for a date and so on. If remembering important and noteworthy dates can bring about a surprise and a smile on the face of a fellow human being, let's do it more often. Cardinal rules of life

Life is a set of limited number of days blessed upon us by God without mentioning the upper limit. What we do out of this is completely left to us. As days pass on many of us look back at our past, some with grief, some with regret while a few with satisfaction. Some with grief because they couldn't do all that they wanted to, some with regret because they didn't do all that they wanted to and some with satisfaction because they could a bit of all that they decided to. All that you must do shall form the cardinal rules of life.

Time just escapes at its own pace and doesn't wait for us to take any action. It's left upon us to run along with it to make things fructify. The reason that many don't achieve all that they want is not that they didn't want to. Simple and the silliest reason is that people tend to forget what they wanted to do. People remember those work that is enforced by others and constantly reminded of or those work which can satisfy their immediate necessities. After about one or two decades they end up just regretting for having lost all the time to make any difference at all. So it's very important for us to divide the work towards our goals and dreams into daily activities. All such daily activities that shall take you towards what you want out of life shall be entitled with certain must-to-do rules and they shall be called as cardinal rules of life. "I must workout in the gym everyday for 90 minutes to have a healthy and fit body", "I must write a blog everyday to develop myself into an author". These are examples of some simple cardinal rules that I make for myself.

Make sure that your cardinal rules are a combination of both your work and target. The moment you read your cardinal rule, it must remind you about your goal as well as the work that you must do to attain the same. This is one of the practical ideas that I designed for myself for a better productive time usage. Do let me know if it helps you as well on is.mohanbn@gmail.com

Influx of ideas

As I keep writing blogs one after the other each one with a new idea and a new concept concealing a new thought, I just keep wondering as to how I am able to come up with such diverse topics. That is when the cocept of 'influx of ideas' flashed in my mind on which the current blog is all about. Influx means an arrival or entry of large number of people or things. So do you want to know how to create an influx of ideas in your brain? Here's the answer.

The target is what that decides your mode of action and planning. The better defined the target is the better and faster is your approach to accomplish it. Defining a deadline is even more important. All these settings for the target subconsciously set an alogorithm running on your brain that starts putting more number of brain cells into the thought process of completing the work at hand. More the number of neurons at work more the number of thoughts and ideas. Also repeating the same task having the same procedure might at times tire away the enthusiasm in us. Hence when the target itself is exciting enough to employ all your creative talents, it becomes even more easy for a variety of ideas to influx on your mind. Also make sure to remember that ideas that pass through our mind fail to get registered with our memory unless we write them down. Hence penning down your ideas is very important as well.

I have heard of this anecdote of how a coal turns into a diamond when sufficient high pressure is applied on it for a number of years. Similar to this when there's a pressure of completion on our mind it  automatically forces all the energy to divert our brain cells from thinking of distractions to giving birth to a variety of new ideas. Would love to receive an influx of your feedback on is.mohanbn@gmail.com

10 minutes to type

I have just 10 minutes to finish this blog. What is the topic that I am gonna touch in this was a question in mind just 30 seconds back. So I made it the title of the blog. Like we have extempore in school where we pick up a chit and talk about the topic in that chit spontaneously, this is called instant blogging.

When I think of the content, I want to share what all happened today and especially the most important learnings that might help the reader to take back something from the blog. Gymming has been one of the profound passions of mine which I dint miss today. Arnold Shwarzenegger in his entire 15 years of career in bodybuilding has fallen sick only twice and that too just common cold. This was one of the most motivating points why I recommend work outs and exercises to people. Also one more advantage of this intant blogging is that I would pass on only really important points for life.

Just 4 minutes to go. Celebrations make your day memorable. Had a chance to cut a cake for my birthday today and was presented with a mega handmade greeting card by AASLESHA. Really awesome feeling to see that I have completed 25 years of my life and looking forward for more. Learnt one of the best things from my mentor "what you think you are, what you show you are and what people think you are must be in sync" - Sujit Lalwani.

Last minute to review the entire blog before posting.
