Only conviction drives the vision

Commitment to work and dedication of time and efforts are the most essential requirements to reach our goals in life. Goals can range from being unrealistic dreams to rational visions. It all depends upon the individual who holds these dreams and visions in his eyes. He has the ultimate power of converting thoughts into reality. Fortunately or unfortunately, man doesn't realize the strength of this power unless he uses it once and that one time implementation requires thorough conviction. Conviction alone can drive visions into reality.

Conviction is all about sitting and doing the task at hand irrespective of whether it is interesting or not. Conviction deals with more of completion of the activity rather than the liking or the disliking of it. Starting different kinds of work is easy because there is the assistance of the initial curiosity or the beginner's luck. Sustaining is the challenging part and taking the work to completion is the toughest challenge. However, the mere decision of making up the mind for something so massive, can only be the result of taking commitment. A commitment is always kept up to because of conviction and hardwork. No matter how much time or energy it takes , one must make up his mind without even getting such distractions.

There are different ways to raise back your conviction. Have a mentor who can spot the flaw points in you without any doubts or questions. Develop the habit of reading more books because they are the sources of knowledge and wisdom. The vision towards which you're driving must be more important than the intermediate results. Only then will the conviction be able to drive us far ahead in life to accomplish all that we dream of.

Talk to self

I was checking out one of my diaries that I used to use before where I had written the notes of the leadership workshops that I had attended. In one of its pages it was mentioned that talking to oneself is very important. In Hindi it's called as 'aatmachintan'. Discussing with oneself is the best way to bring about clarity for one's decisions and shall help in aligning one's actions towards accomplishing the goals set.

Time and again people are confused about their own decisions. The reason is that they decide once and discuss about their decisions with 'n' other people to seek their opinions. Unless they get majority of the responses positive, they go on doing it believing that their decision will be right only when majority of the people also accept it. In doing so, people are just adding more confusion to their decisions rather than strengthing them and acting on them. The most important person on whom all your decisions might impact is you yourself. Hence you need to discuss about your decisions with yourself more than anyone else. More the number of times you discuss, more the clarity you will have as to why you made those decisions. Not just decisions, be it an idea or a simple thought or a dream, vision, goal or anything concerned with one's life, s/he has to talk to himself/herself to understand the basis of one's own thinking and evaluate it oneself. Unless you are clear about what you want to do, you can never expect someone else to understand the reason behind what you want to do. Talking to self regularly for a good amount of time shall always make our thinking clearer to ourselves first, which later can be conveyed to anyone else with complete confidence and clarity.

Talking to onself needn't have to be only verbal, you can even write and explain to yourself all that you want to do. Once you are convinced logically with your explanation then you can give a green signal to yourself to go on with your work without turning back. You always reap the benefits of what you do and never that of others. Hence it's completely upto you as to how much you talk to yourself so that you are the first one to be clear than anyone else about what you're going to go for. Let Go and Let's Go

Two words form two different phrases with just an extra apostrophe and a 's' and the meaning of both the phrases are exactly contrary to one another. English language gives this power to play with words and the author of this quote has just used it to the perfect extent. This is a quote from the book 'Life Simplified!' written by Sujit Lalwani who is a worldwide reknowned inspirational speaker cum entrepreneur. As I was going through this book, this particular quote struck me and I wanted to bring out the deep meaning of this quote into light to all my dear readers and hence am blogging about it.

In life, we desire for, crave for, ask for so many things in spite of knowing that we might not be able to have all of them. The instinctive desire to own what we like is born along with us and this basic instinct stays with a human being until death. It's the brain that decides whether to go for what we desire for or just not yield to the emotions of the impulsive heart. The author mentions in the book that letting go of things and deciding to go after what we want are the two toughest things to do. So the decision made by the brain is what decides whether we are going after what we want or just sacrificing the desire due to current circumstances. This decision making is not at all easy. On one side is the ever optimistic heart that says we must work no matter what, to accomplish what we desire for whilst on the other side is the logistics that show a completely improbable unclear path towards the same accomplishment. Which side does the brain take is an interesting yet a very difficult scenario for all of us at such instances.

The decision that shall churn out of all the mixed emotions and feelings will depend on our past experiences, intuitions, beliefs and principles of our life. We might just consider it as any other decision and move ahead but each of these decisions mould our attitude towards life. Hence it becomes of utmost importance to have made the right decision whether t0 go ahead despite all uncertainties and fears or to let go off the chance or the dream due to uncertainties and fears. You are always welcome to share your perceptions on

Decide to not ask

I remember the famous thought stated by my dear birthdaymate Albert Einstein which goes like this -"I thank all those who denied to help me because of which I could learn and do all of it by myself". Probably due to time and knowledge constraints not everyone of us may be able to follow this statement though we agree with the same. There are innumerable situations that come in our lives where we are entrusted upon with certain work and we start searching for all those who can help us in that regard. Sometimes we are lucky enough to receive the help that we expect whilst sometimes we are at the end of receiving rejections as well.

The decision to not ask for help is one of the toughest decisions that you can take in any scenario. I am not suggesting one to stop asking people for information or service. When the source of any information or service is a specific individual and you cannot afford to have it done by yourself you may ask for their service in return of some payment but when you are self-aware about the algorithm to reach the information or the skill to learn the work to be done you might just be leaning one someone else for help even if its in the form of payment and might end up on the side of losing the experience. When you decide not to ask for help in any form your mind is forced to search for everyway to get the information you need to perform your work except for asking someone else. This provides enough force on the brain to innovate new ideas to accomplish the work at hand and that is where all your creativity will burst out. This process of punishing helplessness on oneself is a bit tough when you can see knowledge modules moving just around you but its quiet necessary to evacuate the dependency quotient from within and fill in the confidence to accomplish anything all by alone self.

Take any inventor for that matter who innovated something that didn't exist before. He or she was forced to think on creating something that didn't exist just by using the existing components and no one else knew the procedure for the same and hence it was helplessness forced upon by the surrounding environment that made him or her to invent what he/she did. You will explore the solution provider in yourself for any problem you face when you take up the complete ownership of solving any problem that you come across by yourself just by deciding not to ask anyone else for help.

Daily decision

So many of us make resolutions for every new year and often we fail in following many of them. Longtime commitment is something hard to commit to for most of us. We definitely try our best to follow the resolutions taken but sometimes our memory limit lacks the ability to remind our resolutions to ourselves. At such rare occasions we fall prey to desires and distractions and break the vow taken. Whether you steal once or hundred times you are still called the thief. Hence once we break the resolutions we don't mind breaking it 'n' number of times which drains away the meaning of resolution itself.

Since I am into the field of bodybuilding and health fitness, strict diet, disciplined workout and regular routines are some of the things I need to be really specific about for rewarding results. I have observed most of them very excited on the first day of joining the gym and the excitement most of the times doesn't last more than a week. Infact with myself, I have had the experience of yielding to junk food and missing workouts due to laziness many a times. I used to take a commitment for 3 months to follow strict diet and regular workout but due to some or the other reason I was never able to follow it hundred percent. This continued for almost four months since I had started. Then I adopted a new method of breaking up commitment on a daily basis. One day is good enough for us to remember the decision that we would have taken in the morning till night. Early morning I used to take simple decisions as I would workout completely for 90 minutes today and I would restrain from eating any oily or sugary food only on that day. This was something very easy to follow because the mind had no constraint for the next day. So it allowed me free of distractions. Next day once again I would make the same decision only for one day and it would work perfectly fine.

I started applying the same principle for other interests of mine. For example just writing one blog a day is a routine decision that I make in subconscious everyday. You can decide on whatever you want to improve and make one decision per day and follow it perfectly. The short term commitment is something which is very easy to fulfil and also it doesn't get out of our minds very easily. I make some new decisions on different days and enjoy following each one of them. Hope this helps you too. Do share your opinions and feedback on is.mohanbn@gmail.com

Power of Decision making

Every moment of our life we are in a continuous process of making decisions. If you are reading this line then definitely you have just now made a decision to read this blog. Infact whether to breathe or not is strictly under your control. Apart from those actions which happen as a result of response to stimulus every other thing you see, speak, act is governed by your own sole decision. You can even go to an extent of concluding that your life is designed mainly by your decisions.

Either consciously or subconsciously our brain has the power to take decisions and act according to them almost everytime. Inspite of this I have come across a lot of people who feel that they lack decision making capability. This is a big misconception that people carry on their mind because they have decided that about themselves. No doubt that their decision rules their life. Except for those offsprings of God who are mentally challenged everyone of us can choose to decide on every aspect of our life. Then why do we sometimes fail making the right decisions? Because at those tough times we don't stop taking decisions, we decide to not decide our next step and instead decide to follow the flow of circumstances. When we don't decide our actions we have decided to make such a decision. At such moments just pause for sometime and tell yourself "DAMN IT! IT'S YOUR LIFE". Sometimes our heart goes so far from us that we are forced to shout at it to call it back.

We can be 100% sure that not every decision that we make is going to be right always. Even the best men/women of the world don't achieve this accomplishment because 'Human is to err'. So forget the fear of making wrong decisions. Be rational enough to take logical decisions. If the situations belong to the early life's syllabus then your decisions will definitely be right else your wisdom will decide the fate of your wishful decisions. Even if some of the decisions go wrong the immediate next step should be to take the right decision to compensate for the earlier wrong decision because ultimately the power to decide lies within you. The power to live your life lies in your powerful decisions.
