You got to feed the baby

I am sure that each one of you must have witnessed some or the other time in your life as to how a baby is fed. The infant might cry to have its food but her mom doesn't leave it just like that. There is a tussle between the two when it comes to having food. No matter how much the baby fights, mom wouldn't allow her to sleep with an empty stomach. Mom shall try all possible different ways of bribing up to scolding to the extent of beating the child if the child disagrees to have food. Because mom knows that the baby has to be fed, else it shall only spoil its own health. The objective is to feed the baby no matter what strategy is used. Mom becomes powerful enough to even bring the moon on earth just for the baby to have its dinner.

For leaders the world around them and the people around them are like their children. Leaders know what's right for the world and the people inhabiting it. If you're a leader you must take the step to take care of your surroundings. You must take up the challenge to make sure that people around you are fed well and leading quality lives. It doesn't matter whether people are ignorant about you, whether they are ridiculing you or they want to rebel against you. All that matters will be your love for them. No matter how much a baby kicks its parents, the parents do not let go off the child because it's their future in physical form. Likewise, leaders must be ready to bear the blunt of people around. Not everyone will be ready to trust you the moment you are taking some initiatives. It's not even necessary for everyone to believe what you're doing is right. Results should speak of your work. Your confidence in the work you have jumped into and the perseverance to bring your vision into reality shall drive in confidence amongst people around you to start believing you. It shall take some time before people are convinced about your leadership traits which they can imbibe in themselves. They need a proof already doing it and it can only be you. Beware! You will never be able to satisfy everyone around you. Someone somewhere or the other will definitely be unhappy or disappointed about you. Keep continuing your work irrespective about who appreciates or not until you reach your visions. As long as people are benefitting from your being on this planet there is no turning back in life.

Remember the baby crying and hesitant to have its food whenever you find people who are not ready to listen to your advice or suggestions. You shouldn't get angry being a leader. Instead you should only feel pity towards the person not paying heed to what you say imagining him/her to be a child in terms of maturity though s/he might have grown in age and physically. You should never give up on changing his/her mindset towards positivity. This task might take a minute or an hour or a day or a week or a month or a year or a decade or a lifetime. No matter how long it takes, you need to be the grown up mature person to innovate different strategies in order to make people follow your right directions.

Restarting the Reign

After quite a pause post the reign of blogging 555+ blog posts during the period of 2012-2013, once again I am jumping back to the field of daily blogging. During this time of silence many of my readers were asking me the reason for not updating my blog on a daily basis. Well! The pause was for a reason. New developments have taken place and a small surprise shall be out soon which took shape during this time of blogging silence. I am eagerly looking forward to the day on which I can release the cat out of the bag. Just like how after every night there comes a day with light, after a long pause even I am back on daily blogging promising to share my experiences and lessons with my dear audience on a daily basis. I am overwhelmed that finally, I am back into the field that I rock!

In History, I used to study of kings and emperors who established their empires and kingdoms by conquering other states. Their reigns used to start in new places. After sometime due to different reasons they used to recede back to their original kingdoms. Once again they used to prepare much better, launch a war, re-conquer the kingdoms and restart their reigns. There have been many rulers in the past who took the king's position the second time after stepping down the first time. A king's duty is to lead the kingdom whenever the circumstances demand no matter how old he is or how tired he is of the king's job. Likewise blogging, especially daily blogging has been that field of mine which I ruled for quite some time for more than one and half years. It's time to restart my reign of daily blogging once again no matter how busy my schedule gets or what time I reach back home at night. I am all set and ready for the challenge. This thought of restarting had been running around in my mind for some time, but today I have hammered it down and the proof is that you're reading my first blog post for the day, for the month, as well as for the New Year 2014. All that I realised during this phase was that there is always an option to restart whatever you have stopped in the past no matter what all and how many were the reasons for pausing (not stopping).

Many people tend to end their passions and hobbies during the school days as they get busy with competitive exams and the college life. Many of the same set stop their exploring and enjoying nature as they get busy with their professional and adult life (post-marriage phase). As the years pass people turn back to see a decade that has run away putting all their dreams and passions below its wheels. Then they think of restarting their passions but neither have the touch of those nor the zeal to pursue them with the highest motivation. Hence they see no means of restarting and continue to drift with life as it takes them. The human generation has seen major catastrophes and erosion of civilizations. In spite of such massive disasters the human life has restarted inhabiting the same arenas. If life can restart from ashes then our passion can also restart in our lives. Press the restart button on all those dreams and passions of yours for which you had pushed the stop button for a temporary interval of time.

Risk is the ratio of...

I miss those awesome leadership empowerment sessions where people used to gather in huge masses to witness the real stories of special individuals who had turned around life with their hardwork and dedication. They hadn't memorized the lessons from the many available self-help books. They had undergone the tough life scenarios that had taught them the real lessons of life. I still remember their examples from their own lives and the lessons learned from them. One such extraordinary personality had addressed the topic of risk required for success. Being an engineering student, his mathematical definition of risk had impressed me.

He defined risk as the ratio of fear of failure to belief to succeed. If the fear of failure in the task that we take up in hand is really high, then the risk felt is also really high. If we are unaware of the result and we don't have much belief to succeed in the endeavour, even then risk is high. On the other hand, if our belief to succeed is greater than the fear of failure in the challenge that we have taken up then automatically the denominator is greater than the numerator. As a result, the risk substantially reduces. Risk is just one of the those anxious and apprehensive mental states of mind. It is a clear cut result of the kind of feelings and emotions that we showcase towards our work. I do accept that the factors in the equation are subject to random uncertainties of life. They do influence the factor of risk as well. However, this equation gives us a measurable form of risk though the quantities on the RHS are not exactly measurable quanta.

Each individual will have to decide the amount of fear of failure and the amount of belief to succeed that he has in his heart and mind for the undertaken task. These will definitely change their values at different instants of time owing to various factors. How well can one manage their ratio constantly is all that will show the calibre of the person in working towards his vision or dream. Proper planning and a strong conviction towards achieving one's own goals with the ability to flexibly adjust and adapt oneself to the random unexpected scenarios and still move steadfast towards goals will always help to reduce the risk factor and increase the result factor.

Refocus Reorient Resurge

Focus, orientation and the surge towards your goals, dreams and ambitions are what make them come into reality. In front of the random situations that come before us and block our path we humans are too weak sometimes to fight against the odds. All the goals and dreams fade away under the shadow of the confusion eating our mental energy. Knowing that we have to do our regular work we miss it in the thought of finding the right solution for the question running in the mind. Atleast if the issue resolves on a positive note, you can be happy to get back to your work but when the issue tears your soul apart and breaks you down completely it is just damn difficult to get out of it. But remember friends, one who fights this fight of resurgence is the one who comes back stronger. I remember the incident in the life of the bodybuilding idol Arnold Shwarzenegger when he was in love with a girl and when he wanted to go to America to enter Hollywood, she was not willing to accompany him. Arnold describes in his book 'The Education of a bodybuilder' that at that point of time he was completely torn between love and his ambitions. Though Arnold spent sometime crying over the issue he had to finally decide to refocus, reorient and resurge towards his goals in life and he did the same. As a result of this comeback power he went on to conquer not just the hollywood but the hearts of millions of Americans. Likewise even I faced certain challenges of similar kind which just pulled me out of my regular workouts. Its been almost four days since I went to gym. Really disappointed with myself in this regard. Thanks to my mentor who helped me to overcome the tough situation with his wisdom-filled lessons. It was hard to accept the truth but there was no other way. A strangling feeling deepened inside but time always has the solutions. As time passed I could gather myself up back and once again refocus, reorient and resurge towards my dreams.

Folks! time and again distractions, problems, confusions etc might just put you to a halt and trouble your mind and soul. Just remember one thing that time will pass. Good and bad times shall prevail for sometime always. Life is itself designed in such a pattern of highs and lows. When the problem is eating up your mental and emotional energies probably you won't be able to cater to your physical self also. You might just get lost in the distress that the problem induces. No matter how much ever wishful we are to win over the problem, sometimes the fate takes the winning side and we can do nothing about it. Just believe that God has planned it all. Just keep the belief in yourself that something better is going to come. Don't stop your action at any cost. Refocus on your priorities, reorient your actions towards working towards them, resurge like a tsunami once again with full zeal and energy to conquer the world. Even Robin Sharma states that sometimes we go offtrack only to come back ontrack. Recognise back all your strengths, remotivate yourself, get reinspired from your inspirational sources, reread your goals and dreams, become like a reborn phoenix and start flying again. The world doesn't end with any of our woes. No one ever will stop their life for the sake of your difficulty. You will be the one who will be responsible to either die in depression of the defeat or bounce back from the failure putting all your energised efforts to accomplish your dreams and visions. Ultimately the choice is YOURS alone.

My dear friends! its been a really tough task in last four days to get over the challenge. It was hard indeed and literally tough to get over the consequences of disappointment. I would advise my dear reader to make sure that you share your set of issues with someone whom you have trust in and learn the next steps to be taken which I did. The life is long enough wherein we will definitely meet a lot of new people and we are bound to find the right ones for us to be surrounded with. Shed the tears of emotions while increasing the longevity of smile on your face continuously which helped me get stronger. I am going to gym tomorrow morning for sure to restart my bodybuilding. What is more precious than time?

This was the question on which I had pondered over time and again. Time is one thing which is completely not under our control. By the time you read these sentences probably five seconds have gone by. Everyone of us know it very clearly that our time on this earth is limited. No one has ever lived on forever. Inspite of knowing this truth we waste the precious time that's blessed upon us. I just feel that Shiv Khera is coming to slap me to remind how time is very important when he writes in his book 'You Can Sell' that it doesn't require a master degree to understand that time is precious enough not to be wasted. I don't have to say anything beyond this to emphasize the value of time. Then what is the answer for the question in the title of the blog?

The answer is your mental energy. We humans possess different kinds of energies such as physical energy, mental energy, spiritual energy and emotional energy. Here I would like to touch the topic of only mental energy because that is the one which keeps working continuously non-stop. The human mind can never stop thinking. Thoughts keep jumping from one nerve to the other continuously. Probably you are imaging the picture of the brain while reading this. That fast is the power of our mental energy. No doubt that in our daily life we come across challenging situations. Some might see them as irritating scenarios as well. The moment you take something as a challenge your mental energy works to find solutions but if you view it from the negative perspective your mental energy gets wasted in thinking about why it happened only to you, why is it so worse and so on. For example, I was just observing the people in a cab while leaving the office. There was a delay of two mintues since all cabs came to the exit at the same time and people started scolding the situation. Further the driver took a wrong route by mistake due to which the cab was held up in a signal for two extra minutes and people in the cab were pissed off. Guys come on! mistakes keep happening. Lets really worry when the mistake is big enough to make a huge impact. If its a small one which won't affect you and which will get resolved within few minutes then why the hell do you have to worry about it so much. Calm down people. These petty things are too tiny to seek the attention of our precious mental energy which can think and plan about big inventions and discoveries. Let's not heed to these unnecessary tensions.

Your mental energy should be focused on thinking positive things that can help your development and the same of the world. Probably even if you waste time playing or relaxing a bit extra you can catch up by using your mental energy in the highest efficient state possible to cover up for the lost time but on the other hand if you waste your mental energy on unnecessary silly things the trauma of it just continues to spoil the mental energy and time further. In a way you lose both mental energy and time. So program your mind in such a way that it doesn't respond to small minor distractions or distrubances rather is more focused towards your goals and dreams.

Look in for your advantage

"Work is the second name of Life" says Sujit Lalwani, well reknowned inspirational speaker. If so, no doubt that every moment of life we are doing some or the other work. Sometimes might be because of our very own personal interest or sometimes because someone else has forced us to do it. Whether we accept or not everyone of us is bound to work to have a life. The only choice here is what kind of work you would love to do. Would you be happy only if you get to do the work that you like to do? Are we really sure that we know the work which we would love to do forever in life? These are some of the questions I would like you to ponder over as I share my experience with you in next few minutes.

"Unceratinty is the other name of Life" I say. You never know when God throws a challenge upon you. You can just escape it and lose the experience of it or you might just want to catch it to gain the advantage of it. Beware! God keeps throwing one after the another. Its your choice whether to catch or miss it. I have observed many times that whenever a tough task is assigned to anyone the first reaction is that of frustration in most of the cases barring a few exceptions. Some cases it might even end up in rejection of taking up the task. The prominent reason for these frustration and rejection is the fear of deadline and the lack of willingness to put in extra efforts. If there's no deadline then there is no point in doing anything in life. Infact even Life itself is not spared from not having a deadline. At these instances either people try to put the task on someone else's shoulders or start giving silly reasons even before starting the task as to why it can't be completed. This seems more like a negative approach to me. This is where I say "Look in for your advantage".

No doubt that whenever there's a challenging new task you are bound to learn something new. Learning new means growth in life. When 'Growth' itself is the synonym for 'Life' as stated by Sri. Sumit Lalwani, why not take up the new task? The tougher the task the more you will learn for sure. Coming to the point of fear of deadline, when you know you have put in your hundred percent efforts to the maximum extent possible, you would have definitely made progress in the task if not solved it completely. Everyone around you would be sane enough to understand it if explained with proper proofs. You might not have found a solution to the problem at hand but you would have atleast found 'n' number of improper ways which won't yield the result intended similar to the story of Thomas Alva Edison. Sometimes we would have underestimated our own capacity. You might just finish off the task almost in half the time than that given to you. You know about your performance only when you perform not by just speculating it.

In any work or task or challenge or problem you are offered look in for your advantage. More than worrying about what benefit the task has for anyone else look in for what it has to offer you might be knowledge or experience or fine tuning of your performance. I would like to conclude this topic by the famous quote of the young energetic speaker Sujit Lalwani - "When you love something do it, when you don't love someting don't do it but whenever you are doing something, better love it".
