The (n+1)th task

We are humans and we are destined to prepare and execute 'n' number of tasks everyday of our life. Some of the tasks have become so embedded in our lives that we don't even consider them as tasks but just daily habits. As we grow everyday in our life, in our education, in our business, in our career new challenges keep coming just to help us grow through them. In this process I am sure that everyone of you have been through some of the tough challenges of life. Probably the number of these might be one to many. Every time you were in a tough one you would have prayed to God that 'let there be no other task that's tougher than this one'. Also I can guarantee you that God would have definitely placed the next task in sometime damn tougher than the existing one. This is the task which I call as the (n+1)th  task.

Most of us are afraid of taking up a new task that we haven't faced before. Even the most optimistic and enthusiastic people who always keep exploring life have some sense of butterflies in their stomach when there is a new challenge which they have to face. Also we know the fact that we have to face it anyway to move forward in life. Hence we face it. No doubt that when its a question of life to move forward we accomplish it as well. Also that is the time we tell others it was the most tough challenge till then in life. We are still unaware of the next thing planned by God for us. It was a new experience for me also today when I was asked to take up the first half of an inspirational talk to six hundred plus people. It was just like a boulder of challenge that was thrown on my empty hands. I was one person who would be the last person on earth to take up the first part of any session because it's the most difficult challenge to break ice with hundreds of people at one shot and make them involve in a discussion or interaction for next two to three hours. I was very comfortable to take off from a session once which is already started and the first speaker has already made the crowd to gel enough with the speaker. This challenge of taking the first half of the talk came as a surprise just this morning when I had advised one of my friends just yesterday not to take the first part of any talk. God has his own plans and this was the (n+1)th challenge for me which I gracefully accepted.

I was all set for this challenge and executed my part to accomplish it in the best way possible. That's when I learned that even though you want to stop facing tough situations God always keeps increasing the toughness levels of the life just to make us grow our wisdom and keep life exciting as it happens in the games that we play. I am sure that no one would want to play the game which has just one level. So my dear readers, whenever you feel you have worked very hard and have completed 'n' number of tasks just know that God will soon be back to you with the (n+1)th task.

Clarity, Definition, Transparency

When you are travelling along a highway to a far off distance its so important to have a clear idea of the path that you will traverse and also the transparency of the glass so that you can have a clear vision of the road ahead. Likewise in life its very important that we should be aware about how clear and well-defined our goals, dreams and visions are. If the driver doesn't know the exact destination and the exact path to reach the destination but only knows an approximation of where the destination is and a rough plan of road to reach the destination, even then the driver can find a route and reach the destination also but the extra time and energy spent in due course will be an extra expenditure. This extra can be small or big depending upon the lack of clarity and definition. However small it is, it is definitely going to cost the driver.

Everyone of us are sailing through the happenings of life day by day with some plan in mind. Some of them have just handed over the control to the circumstances around them and are under the misconception that fate will take care of them. I feel really sorry for such people. I would like to quote a very famous quote of Sri. Dhiru Bhai Ambani here which goes like this - "If you don't work to build your dreams, others will use you to build their's". Proabably this is the case with most of the people in today's world. That is why it is utmost essential for one to know the clear direction along which he/she wants to take his/her life in. Most of us have some plan or vision in our mind towards which we struggle day in and day out. But I want to stress upon the point about how clear and well-defined this goal is set in the mind. How clear are we about the path that will lead us to the dream in our minds? How transparent is the glass of imagination in our mind about our future? are some of the questions that I want my dear reader to think about and ponder over for an answer.

Let me make it very clear dear friends that we have a life of fixed time limit and we don't have eternal time to experiment and traverse every other path to reach our goal. Every extra minute spent and every extra thought invested on a disorganised plan is a second and a thought energy lost which could help us reach our goal earlier with an organised plan. A clearly defined vision and perfect structured plan of work can help us really save lots of time and mental energy and help us accomplish more and more. Start defining your goal and plan for future right now........

1st impression is the BEST impression: Y/N

I don't want to have a debate whether this age old notion is true or not. Impression is just another word for perception is what I feel. Its once again a feeling. Moods are bound to change, so are feelings. Some of the most accepted Laws of the world were broken with new discoveries and inventions. I don't have to give examples of any because you already know many. When the biggest notions of mankind were proven false with the passage of time then it is no wonder that even impressions about things, places and people can change with new experiences. 'First impression is the best impression' - this thought has ruled the world from a very long time and I don't mean to demean this fact but want to just share my experience.

Today I went to my office cafeteria and ordered a dish called 'Meso salad'. The first time I had it was around a year back when I really hated and wasted more than half of it. But today I just had this strange instinct to try it again and went for it the second time. This time it just became my favourite dish. I was really wondering over this paradigm shift of desire. Infact for past one year I have been marketing to everyone to not to have this meso because it was very bad and I, myself denied trying it for more than a year. This was the effect of the first bad impression. But today when I gave the second chance to meso to impress me it did it fantastically. Then I thought- how many times we build notions about people around us just meeting them the first time and conclude about them? All of us know that none of us have a scanner built into us to judge anyone's character just at the first glance but still we are specialists when it comes to opinionize about people and more than that we feel great about it also. Just because the first impression was not so great we end up not even talking to the same person for years together to only realise later that he/she had lots inside him/her to enrich our lives. We regret for that also.

Just imagine what would have been our fates if our teachers concluded about our future the first time they saw us. No doubt we were childish when we were children. Our teachers and parents took the patience to help us grow into better adults. The first impression is not just cast by the person alone. It also depends on the circumstances of that first meeting. It would be the biggest mistake if we created a stern impression about anyone seeing the first time. Let's give a second try. Life is big enough to go through different kinds of experiences and circumstances. You never know when the inner beauty reveals itself to the world. Infact hope itself means to expect things to be better next time. If everything had got decided in the first impression itself then there would have been no progress in the world. Remember there is always not just a second chance but a next chance as well in life before we conclude about anything.
