Not just another brick in the wall

This blog is based on one of the pictures that I came across facebook today. Infact just two days before I had this thought on my mind. I don't want to just live a life like any other normal ordinary individual whose presence or absence doesn't make a major difference to the world except at the elementary level. I want to be a significant contributor wherever I am and in whatever I am doing. I should be the outstanding figure in any group I am and I must strive hard to live these thoughts in reality. The photo that coincided with this thought was of a wall where all bricks were red in colour except for one. This one was blue in colour hoarding the quote which is the title of this blog.

That's when I decided to pen down this blog. No wonder that perfection is hard to achieve and almost impossible in many cases. But you can be sure that when you're marching towards perfection you'll meet excellence on the way for sure. There were so many freedom figthers but how many of them do we really remember barring a few names? No doubt that the contribution of each and every freedom fighter towards freedom struggle was important but there were a few names who made a major significant contribution and hence they are not just one among the rest others. Similarly if you are a student in school or college, do you prefer to be just another student in the class or do you want to be the best student who is also the class monitor depends upon your choice. If you're an employee in a job or a partner in a business, the choice to be the best employee of the company or the best employer of the business is in your hands. To be the best you need to contribute the most. Most of them are in the delusion that, more the one is provided with chances and resources, more can one contribute and be the best. I pity at such low thoughtful people. When the resources are restricted and limited, the one who extends and expands himself to the maximum to contribute in the most efficient manner becomes the best. Everyone can work and produce results when sufficient chances and resources are provided but only the champions who just don't want to be one among such everyones, work hard to produce the same results with lesser chances and resources. To not be just another brick in the wall, this brick was painted blue and also was embossed with the quote on it. So what more can you do than the others and what distinctive positive differences can be found between you and the ordinary normals are what that determine your speciality.

Life is once my dear friends! There is no point in living it away like the others do. Let's be differently eye-catching in some way atleast. Also let this difference be shown in the work that we produce with positive results with much more impact than that done by anyone else. Try to be special in some or the other way of your choice. You don't have to think out of the box to be extraordinary. Just do a little bit extra than the ordinary and you will be extraordinary.

Thanks Anthony Robbins for the lesson, Thanks God for the slap

 A small introduction of Anthony Robbins from wikipedia. Anthony "Tony" Robbins(born February 29,1960) is an American self-help author and motivational speaker. He became well known through his informercials and self-help books, Unlimited Power: The New Science of Personal Achievement and Awaken The Giant Within. Robbins writeS about subjects such as health and energy, overcoming fears, persuasive communication and enhancing relationships. Robbins began his career learning from many different motivational speakers and promoted seminars for his personal mentor, Jim Rohn. He is deeply influenced by neuro-linguistic programming and a variety of philosophies.

In one of the books of Anthony Robbins where he explains about how he became a motivational speaker he says that when he had joined an organization for speakers everyone who had enrolled there used to give two speeches a week but Tony Robbins used to give two speeches a day because he had a very clear goal of becoming a SPEAKER. So he used to do it the maximum number of times possible and he teaches that if you are wanting to be a professional in something you need to do it everyday and not just on a weekend. Even Robin Sharma endorses the same idea in his book 'The Greatness Guide'. Thanks to both these masters. They had passed on a lesson which they had learnt, to me theoretically. Today I learnt the same lesson practically. Today I was given an opportunity to address a gathering of 40 people for an inspirational talk. After speaking for about 20-30 minutes I faced one of the tightest slaps I have ever got on my speaking ability. I just felt that I had misearbly failed to keep up to the standard of an inspirational speaker that I aimed to be. The sole reason for this was I was practising the profession of a speaker for few minutes once a fortnight or sometimes once a month. I had concluded on my own that based on my job timings this is the best that I could give for my speaking career. Folks! you don't achieve what you want by just giving your best, you achieve it by giving what is required to achieve it. This was one more solid slap on my ignorance of the lessons of the experienced. Though one of my friends said "Awesome" after I spoke I clearly could read the audience feedback. At that time I felt that you should never ask your friends for feedback. They are too good to say the truth straight on your face because they care for you and can't see you feeling hurt. When the live feedback is from the audience in front of you, you need not ask anyone else.

Friends, please don't make the mistake that I have made. You don't become a painter by painting on your weekend or a singer by just singing a song on a sunday. If you are eyeing any of the professional career based on your interest better implement that interest everyday into action. If I can extend it further implement it every moment. A businessman who is involved in his business every second of the day only makes profits not anyone who opens the store once a week. Its very simple - if you're a student you need to study everyday, if you're a chef you need to cook everyday, if you're person in job you need to work everyday to get paid excepting holidays. I still am into brainstorming on how I'll implement my speaking practice everyday. Hope you start your preparation soon enough to avoid any slaps later.

STUDENT

During the student life its possible to engender whatever one wants to in his field of interest. All the students have got the ability to enhance their performance with time. It is just that one needs to realize this. Though the juvenile age is ephemeral, a person remains a student forever in life. Equanimity is one of the distinct qualities of a student that can help him in difficult tasks. A good student should never try to equivocate his mistakes but must be open to constructive criticism. Erudition cannot be achieved without hardwork. Some of the esoteric concepts cannot be understood unless there is complete dedication. There are many instances that can exacerbate the calmness of the situation.

 

A student must be ready to face all these situations in life. If ever he is blamed by mistake he should be capable of exculpating himself from the situation. He should be ready for all kinds of exigency and face them with boldness. The extrapolation of the student life is nothing but the job one takes up. A student life should also be filled with fun for which a facetious freind like me will be very useful. Our parents try to facilitate us with the best they can give for all our experiments in life. A student should be grateful to his parents than giving fallacious reasons for his failures in his tasks. It would be fatuous of a student to underestimate his teachers. A student should not try to fawn someone just because he can get something done by the other person. He should be felicitous in whatever he says which will reflect the fervor in his talk else his words will flag off in the ambient noise.
