Old lessons die hard

Recently while speaking to one of the students I came across one of the most important lessons of life, and that was 'Hard work is the route to success'. The student came up saying that in today's world, hard work doesn't yield anything. If that was the case then donkey would have been the most rewarded animal. Hence smart work is the trend of the modern world. Only smart work leads to success. That is where I was trying to find out how come a lesson that stood firm and true for 20 centuries suddenly was failing in the 21st century. The Laws of Science haven't failed till date and I was only wondering how Laws of Success could fail.

Today, people are searching for new reasons which are stopping them to reach their goals or others expectations from them. Hence they wish to disprove every existing theory that leads to success. A simple example of this is what I have presented above. One of the proverbs that always comes back to my mind is, 'Old is Gold'. One can go around and ask all the successful people around about their secrets of success. All of them shall share the same old lessons on hard work, passion, commitment etc. For example, Sachin Tendulkar is known for his patience, consistency, passion for Cricket, hardworking nature and other positive qualities. Shah Rukh Khan also expresses the same attributes that have led him to success in the cinema industry. Even the Ambanis from the business field exhibit the same positive qualities like commitment, love for people, perseverance etc which make them the undoubted Lords of different businesses. No matter which field you are in you can always achieve pinnacle in that field through the same old dedication, discipline and devotion which have been taught to us by our parents, elders and teachers from time immemorial. There is no point in searching for new ways to achieve your dreams. Follow the age old proven principles of success and excellence shall be your present.

Excuses and success don't go hand in hand. There is no point in debating about why a particular rule cannot apply to you which has applied to a lot many achievers. You don't even need to know all the Laws of Success to bring life to all your dreams and passions. You just need to know many, understand some, adopt few and implement one. One such lesson is more than powerful to help you connect to your dreams in reality. A single lesson realised and inculcated in life is much better than a million lessons learnt and forgotten to remember.

2P tend to P2P

The title might be little confusing. Let me clear the confusion before we go ahead with the article. 2P means practice and patience and P2P means performance to perfection. I could have easily split up this blog post into two, one on practice and the other on patience but didn't do so because at the end only the combination of these both can yield the expected result in life. Let's have a brief insight into this amazing combination.

'Nobody is perfect' is a repeated slogan that we hear almost everywhere, still the drive towards perfection is always enforced upon us. In fact, there is nothing wrong in racing to be perfect because on the way to perfection we shall meet excellence for sure. There is no other better satisfaction than achieving the peaks of perfection in our performance. Any kind of performance needs consistent practice to reach the perfection. Just practice alone doesn't help. Only perfect practice can lead to perfection. The duration of practice might last as long as we reach perfection and hence it demands patience. Only when we patiently practise can we deliver perfection in every performance of ours. If you practise continuously for few days and after that lose patience and give up the practice then perfection can't be achieved. On the other hand, if you're totally patient and practise once in a while without any sense of urgency, even then the perfection in performance cannot be achieved.

Different people who have become successful in life have derived various lessons from their journies. Some state the message of patience, some of hardwork, some of humbleness and so on. However, success is a result of culmination of all these positive qualities. No one quality alone can yield success in life. We have to possess and exhibit all the essential requirements which the success demands. You can share your opinions about success on

Patience is a desire

One of the powerful quotes from the book 'Life Simplified!' authored by the josh machine, Sujit Lalwani, comes once again in the form of a blog. All of us have assigned certain characteristics that are required to be successful in life. Definitely patience is one of them. This quote attributes pateince to be one of our desires. It symbolises that by desiring for a characteristic one can inculcate that in him/her.

Patience stands as the test of tough times. Patience doesn't mean that one has to stand still waiting for something to click, it's just a phase where in one is ready to input all the hardwork and resources in spite of no results only with a hope and belief that something will click for sure. So in the quote shown in the picture, Mr. Lalwani clearly mentions that without this desire to be patient, one cannot achieve patience. He also compares it to the life itself. Unless one has a desire to grow, life itself doesn't happen. Patience forms a very integral part of our journey to success as it is the packaging material for the box of requirements that success demands. Until all the essential qualities, skills, resources, labour, talents and time are put into the box the patience keeps waiting patiently. Once all are assembled in the box, patience binds all of them to present the gift of success back to us.

We desire to become successful in our careers. We desire for materialstic pleasures. We desire for relationships, love and respect. To achieve all these we need to possess certain prerequisite qualities like kindness, patience, hardwork, honesty, perseverence and lot more which are hard to develop. So by making it a desire to develop these qualities itself we can start enjoying the taste of achieving each quality which shall eventually lead us to our first set of desires. Collecting new experiences

Last few days I have been in a spree of meeting people and learning about what they have done and how's their past been. Due to the
people from diverse backgrounds whom I have met, I have learned many lessons and also understood about the human psychology partially. As a reason of these meetings, I have got immeasurable understanding about how people of different age and belonging to different backgrounds think and act. I cannot definitely claim that I understand everything but surely I understand a bit better now than before.

We have got one single life and in that we have a very limited amount of time. It is definitely impossible for us to go through all the possible experiences in the world. So sharing the stories of our personal experiences and listening to others' experiences are the only ways through which we can assimilate variety of experiences which help our wisdom grow. This inturn shall help us to handle various challenges ahead in life. Not just an advantage for us, by collecting new experiences from others we gather sufficient knowledge that we can guide some other person who is undergoing a similar situation like one of the experiences that we have gathered from other people. More the amount of varied experiences, more the problems that can be solved because problems are limited in variety but are applicable to many people. So a single experience of one person who has solved a problem is sufficient to solve the same problem of thousand others.

The best way to make a collection of new experiences of many people is by meeting and talking to a large number of people. In today's busy world, people seldom find their close ones to be free to discuss in detail about all the experiences that they have undergone till now. As a result people are ready to share their experiences with someone who has the patience to listen to them. So just be a good listener and you can take away a baggage of experiences. Walk Jog Run Sprint Bolt

This was a quote on a T-shirt that I observed in the gym. Initially at the first reading I couldn't understand it then I realised that these were the measures of our pace of movement and in that category Usain Bolt had achieved so much that his name was also included in the measuring scale metrics. For the benefit of my dear reader I would like to let you know that Usain Bolt has been one of the fastest men on this earth winning many competitions in running sports. You normally jog faster than you walk, you run faster than you jog, you sprint faster than you run and if you are ahead of the speed of sprint then you are in the Bolt category. This is what the title symbolizes.

While thinking about this topic I just saw around how lethargic the world was. People are walking slowly, someone is sipping the coffee at the rate of 20 seconds per sip, some are working so patiently that the work itself would get bored to be completed. Just observe the scene around you friends. You can see how slow things are moving. The construction projects taken up by government take years to get complete, the plans set up for development of the common man take ages to get implemented and so on and so forth. Infact when I observe myself when there is no pressure I just take all the time in the world to finish the task. Have you been through those fabulous experiences of having delicious lunch for more than an hour? If you can just collect all these scenes in your mind together and press the fast forward button you can watch how funny it would be. No wonder on the other hand that the tasks would get over so soon that you would have enough time left to rejoice other things of life. I agree that there are certain moments that we must savour with the highest patience and time but for all other things I think having pace is a good advantage.

Just remember friends, that we we don't have time for eternal with us. All of us have limited amount of time vested into our life by the Almighty. How much we make use of it is what counts at the end of the life. Every second that you give extra to a task is your denial of that extra second to another task. If you can walk a bit faster to save few seconds, if you can read a bit faster to save few minutes, if you can work a bit faster to save few hours, if you can think to plan a bit faster to save few days probably you would end up saving few extra years of your life which can be invested in a lot of other productive activities. Your time starts now!
