Old lessons die hard

Recently while speaking to one of the students I came across one of the most important lessons of life, and that was 'Hard work is the route to success'. The student came up saying that in today's world, hard work doesn't yield anything. If that was the case then donkey would have been the most rewarded animal. Hence smart work is the trend of the modern world. Only smart work leads to success. That is where I was trying to find out how come a lesson that stood firm and true for 20 centuries suddenly was failing in the 21^st century. The Laws of Science haven't failed till date and I was only wondering how Laws of Success could fail.

Today, people are searching for new reasons which are stopping them to reach their goals or others expectations from them. Hence they wish to disprove every existing theory that leads to success. A simple example of this is what I have presented above. One of the proverbs that always comes back to my mind is, 'Old is Gold'. One can go around and ask all the successful people around about their secrets of success. All of them shall share the same old lessons on hard work, passion, commitment etc. For example, Sachin Tendulkar is known for his patience, consistency, passion for Cricket, hardworking nature and other positive qualities. Shah Rukh Khan also expresses the same attributes that have led him to success in the cinema industry. Even the Ambanis from the business field exhibit the same positive qualities like commitment, love for people, perseverance etc which make them the undoubted Lords of different businesses. No matter which field you are in you can always achieve pinnacle in that field through the same old dedication, discipline and devotion which have been taught to us by our parents, elders and teachers from time immemorial. There is no point in searching for new ways to achieve your dreams. Follow the age old proven principles of success and excellence shall be your present.

Excuses and success don't go hand in hand. There is no point in debating about why a particular rule cannot apply to you which has applied to a lot many achievers. You don't even need to know all the Laws of Success to bring life to all your dreams and passions. You just need to know many, understand some, adopt few and implement one. One such lesson is more than powerful to help you connect to your dreams in reality. A single lesson realised and inculcated in life is much better than a million lessons learnt and forgotten to remember.

you NEED it, you GET it

Life is not rosy all the time. It shows its side of thorns as well at critical junctures. Thorns are nothing but the rules and regulations that are difficult to bypass. Adding to the woes of common man there is just not enough transparency in the existing laws and legislations. Compounding these with corruption has just made the procedure to get what you need more and more difficult. There is no point accepting defeat against the giant barrier built by all these. Amidst these, we have to screw in our way to get what we need. Here I would stress on the entire 'need' rather than 'want' because a 'want' can be postponed but not a 'need'.

When you are on an endeavour which has a clear mission and a vision to impact a massive area of growth positively just be sure that you will have to deal with a majority of roadblocks as well. You will be meeting 'n' number of people from diverse backgrounds having diverse opinions. You will have to convince all of them and take their permissions and consents before proceeding further. At no point will you be allowed to skip these blocks without facing them. You are bound to the game of clearing each one of them. At such points you might be facing rejection and ridicule very often. Just don't give heed to any of them as long as your work is completed. Be persistent in convincing the opposite party to agree to your ideology. You might not even have enough finance with you which could have done the same job of convincing. Even if you have don't use it for the work of convincing which you can do yourself. This will at least save the money for a pertinent usage in the future. Keep patience and a 'never give up' attitude close to your heart which will guard it from any external comments or hits. Keep in mind  that all these intermediate obstacles are just a test for your clarity of your vision and the leadership ability in you to bring your vision into reality.

Nothing comes free of cost on this earth. Every baby struggled to stay crumbled in its mother's womb for 7 to 9 months and to come out into this world. This struggle was worth to get a chance to grow up in this amazing world. When you want something only your heart is telling it to you but when you need something both you heart and brain command you to get it. Standards! Do they affect you?

In one of my conversations with a friend last night, she asked me whether her poems and proverbs were good enough to be published. Immediately I replied back saying that it doesn't matter whether they are good or bad as long as you want to publish them. Friends! let me reassure you that even garbage sells. Why do we have so many doubts against our own creations? It's all because of the set standards for anything we do that block us from surpassing them.

People have assumed certain standards for anything and everything that they are involved in. There is a certain set standard to wear clothes to a party or office or social gathering. There are standards for eating as well, in fact even to hold a fork. There are different standards of speaking english language for that matter. There is a specific way to convene a board meeting. People have a built-in perception that something really big, best and famous should be in the exact form that they imagine and if anyone else is doing the same level of impact but in a different form, it's difficult for people to accept. Friends! please get rid of all such unwritten rules that clog your mind from conveying our thoughts and ideas.

Right at the beginning of evolution of homo-sapiens species everyone of us were mere monkeys. Man evolved over the years and started following certain norms that eventually became standards for others to follow as they were more convenient and acceptable by a large number. If you can perform anything that you like to perform in the best way that it doesn't hurt the feelings of others and is neat in presentation that large number of people can view and validate it right then that's the best standard. No doubt that 'To err is human', you are bound to make mistakes. Just get rid of the fear of making mistakes and failing in front of the people's eyes. Be ready to learn from them and move on with your journey. All standards will get fulfilled in due course or perhaps you might be the next standard-setter. Rules in Life aren't Laws of Life

Every now and then in our day to day activities we see rules before proceeding. We follow certain rules and we break some. Knowingly or unknowingly some rules are designed to cause more trouble than to provide any good. Some of us formulate our entire life around these rules but get entagled in the spider web whereas some break the rules, go beyond them and either get penalised or successful. Its quite a contradiction that sometimes you win only by breaking the rules.

Having a one-way is the rule of traffic, but when an ambulance is having a patient this rule can be broken because the Law of life is to live, not to die because of the rule. While signing a contract a person can dedicate his time and efforts for the work as mentioned in the rules of the agreement but he need not dedicate his life for money as it is against the Law of life itself. Life is much bigger than money. Strictest of the rules are broken during the 2 most important phases of life as engraved in the writing "Everything is fair in LOVE and WAR"  because rules were meant to be broken infront of the Laws of life.

There is a big challenge to the framers and followers of rules because rules have their own dimensions to operate within. Once the boundaries of caste, religion, state and colour are crossed even the most followed rules become completely invalid when they are found to intimidate the Laws of life which are happiness, love and satisfaction. I would definitely recommend you to follow the rules but be cautious of not ignoring the laws of humanity in the process. Depending on the situation, certain rules can be ammended in order to safeguard the laws of mankind.
