To enjoy or learn from a movie

Those of us who are accustomed to watching movies, watch so many movies in our entire lifespan. There are different reasons as to why we watch movies. In fact these reasons differ from person to person. One person might have gone to enjoy the movie while another person might have just gone to learn from the movie. What you focus is what you see. As I was watching Licoln movie last evening, probably I didn't enjoy much of it because of my own personal reasons. Does it mean that I didn't learn from the movie at all?

 

As I stated above, people go for movies for different reasons. These reasons are based upon the upbringing of each individual and his/her experiences. What you see in a movie is also completely dependent on your past but what you intend to see depends on what future you see for yourself. Enjoying is related to the emotional and feelings part of the mind while learning is realted to the logical bent of brain. Different people are used to different genre of movies. Picking out the best lessons from any movie you watch is the perceptional upliftment that you have inside you while you might not enjoy even a bit of the movie. Perception is all about the way you see something and if you can relate to what's happening on the screen in some way or the other you can definitely extract the juice out of it which shall be called as a learning. You can force someone to learn but not to enjoy. Hence enjoying the movie is not mandatory though you can learn from it. But when is that you enjoy learning from the movie?

 

This happens when the movie is packaged in the form of your taste and still able to teach the same lessons. Then you will not only learn from the movie but even enjoy it. Not all film-makers are talented to make such movies that entertain as well as deliver a message. Sacrifice the luxury sometimes

I am not speaking about renouncing everything that you have like Budhdha, I am just advocating one to see the part of life without luxury also. Today, I see so many obese people around and the shocking fact is that obesity is catching up even with kids. Small children who are supposed to be playing, runnning and jumping around are being pampered so much that they are not unable to drain off the calorie-intake. KFCs and McDs are just hotspots for today's kids along with other fast food junk. Parents have become so possesive of their kids that they are always safeguarded against any injuries or pain. As a result of this excessive care and nourishment today's kids are growing up only to expect the same care later in their lives in the world which completely turns out to be a disappointment that can't be beared.

I am damn sure that you would have heard stories of your ancestors who used to walk miles together just to study in a school, who read under streetlights like Sir.M.Visveswaraiah to pass their exams, who slept on a stone due to lack of proper hut, who went fasting days together due to lack of money. From that phase they have build their life and the life of further generations that today's generation is enjoying. The real desire to have a better life comes from the lack of it at the first place. All of us know that 'Necessity is the mother of all inventions'. Similarly 'the derth of something is the birth of the desire to achieve the same'. If you have been always provided with food at regular time intervals then you would have never felt hungry at all. If all your wishes are being catered to by your parents then there is no hunger in you to work for anything because already all your desires are getting answered. Then for what does one have to live a life for? I still remember the statement of Shah Rukh Khan who used to work for twenty hours a day during his earlier part of the career which goes like this "I was afraid that I would be poor if I didn't work hard". King Khan had realised the difficulty of being poor and that's what made him work hard to become the Badhshah of Bollywood. If you haven't tasted bitter then you can't appreciate the sweet, if you haven't faced the failure then you can't appreciate and enjoy success. So its time to sometimes sacrifice the luxury that you have and walk the hard path only to appreciate what God has blessed upon you already.

Try to walk to your college or office once in a while instead of taking the vehicle so that you can appreciate your very own legs, try to fast a day once in a while to test your stamina, try to extend yourself continuously studying or working just to know the value of sleep. Sacrifice some of your wishes to be satisfied from your parents, take a challenge to earn them on your own doing part-time jobs. Luxury need not be always car or a bungalow, anything that you get without working for is luxury, anything that you earn is always your asset. Sacrifice your small luxuries to learn great lessons to build bigger assets.

God has planned it all

For those believers in God I need not go into deep description of this title of the blog but for those people who don't believe in God, I hope atleast you believe in energy defined by science. Energy that we can't see that has set the structure of evolution of the universe. There is this universal energy responsible for the planets to go around stars, the energy which is responsible for life to exist on this planet earth and so on. There is a systematic process set rolling involving so many non-systematic incidents. I am sure you have atleast heard of how the earth balances the life population. So behind all these happenings there is some master energy and some master plan against which we humans are too tiny to challenge and fight. This master supreme energy is what I bleieve as God. When you plan you might fail or succeed but you can just be sure that whatever happens will result in good for you if you believe that it was planned by God to make good happen for you.

In my childhood when my grandmother used to say that everything is already planned in the drama that God has written and that's why the past incidents have happened the way they have happened, I used to argue with her that there's no drama and if there is one it should tell us the future. I was so stupid that I didn't understand that it required wisdom to read the drama not just a question. When I turn back and see the past incidents of my life, I just realise how well the dots were placed and connected by God to help me reach the position I have reached now. Might be it will be too small of me to analyse everything of it by logic though I can do it. I just feel satisfied and blessed that God planned it so well for me. When I extend this thought to the world I can clearly see that inspite of so many efforts by man to systematize the running of life, God keeps surprising him with new things, fooling him with randomness and exciting the game even more day by day. If you are standing with the ego of the self that things will happen only as you want them to, you are just spoiling your time with disappointment. I am not trying to say here that one shouldn't put his efforts in doing things. That is the utmost necessity because God has planned it so well that if one person has no reason to do a certain thing some other person has million reasons to accomplish the same because God has planned a dynamic drama not a static one.

At the end of the above conversation what I would like to convey to you my friend is that we are in this world to play our roles. Circumstances and situations will keep changing. Some might favour us while some might deceive us completely. Just keep a hope and belief in the eternal energy which I refer to as God that everything has been planned to happen only for the good of you. Don't jump into conclusions anywhere about how things happen because God always loves to surprise you. Keep learning through the game of life, explore and most important of all enjoy it. Afterall at the end of the day we know the truth that birth, death and change are the only three constant things on this earth and the time in between birth and death is meant to be lived with utmost life in it.

Ladies! Learnt a lot from you

This blog is a complete dedication to all those beautiful girls, ladies and women who have made this earth a better place to live in. Before starting off with this post my mind was in a dilemma whether to take up this topic or not. I was quite unsure about my preparation on writing this blog. Also there was a small inhibition that friends might tease reading the title itself but then I thought to myself that this topic has been running on the mind quite often. Either today or some other day I will have to put it into words and I chose TODAY itself because I remembered that as soon as I woke up today the first face I saw was that of my mother's. Everyone of us have been lucky enough to see unknown face of God in our mother's heart. Neither me nor anyone in this world can prove if any love is bigger than the love of a mother for her children. Well! God didn't stop at one. He knew that there was a requirement of lot more of these fabulous females to look after these menacing males. So He also blessed us with sisters, cousins, aunts, grandmothers and friends who are girls(I know I couldn't have used the short form here because you might just take me wrong).

I think while God designed men, He introduced lot of functionalities that they could perform various amount of vareity of functions but didn't give much importance to UI(User Interface). As a reason though lots get done inside the output shows to be very plain like the initially designed operating systems of the world. If you are not a techie I would make this simple saying that men are really low on expressing themselves and their emotions. Anyways they are still better than a stone. But later God realised the error in the early design and made sure that the best form of display with all the best functionalities was introduced while creating females like that of Samsung Galaxy S3 which has the tagline - "Designed for humans". I think females were created with a tagline - "Designed for mans"(I apologise for the spelling mistake). Trust me girls! We need you. Men by themselves are not capable enough to extract their full potential. We need you to be not just behind us but along with us because you are the powerhouse of inspiration. Men can create anything but women will be the ones who will fill life into the creation.

Like most men even I grew up from being a boy into a man. In the process I was forced to think that I was no more a small kid but a grown up who should always be seriously focused on work and work more on logic than feelings. Thanks to the Almighty that this misconception was broken soon. I must confess here that when I used to see girls around who were grown up still behaving as kids I used to get irritated. I would take it as rather childish than childlike. But as time progressed when I saw the same girls taking up serious decisions of life for themselves and for their families I had to admit that I was a fool to think they were kiddish. They had really grown far more than I had imagined. That was the time when I learnt that you don't have to be really serious all the time just because you are no more a teenager. No one on this earth has ever defined how a child should behave and how an adult should behave. Its all influenced by the society we live in. Its time to change guys. In childhood we were lot more happy because we enjoyed every small thing of life. We didn't need a Samsung Galaxy S3 alone to be happy. We could be happy with just a chocolate a day. Might be we guys forgot but thanks to these marvellous ladies who never let go off the child within them.

Ladies are special. They get happy when you buy them a rose a day rather than a rose garden after ten years. They value precious moments of life like the first time you met them, the first time you called them, the first time you went out for a movie, the first gift you presented them etc. We guys are sometimes really low on memory(manufacturing defect) that we forget these precious moments but remember the score of Sachin in Sharjah Cup. Ladies know the right time for fun and the right time to be serious. Your spouse or girlfriend would enjoy the bike ride with you more than a ride in Mercedes Benz driven by a driver just because you bought it to enhance your prestige in the soceity. They would love to get wished from you first than anyone else on their birthday. I used to think that whistling was a bad manner but offlate realised that girls enjoyed it when done in the right manner. They love to get impressed, impress them you boys.

Well before I conclude I would like to thank every woman on this earth for having been such a strong support for us. Might be if not for Smt. Sudha Murthy we would have never seen Infosys or Sri. NarayanMurthy. If not for our mothers we would have never been the sane guys that we are today. As the old adage says home is the first school and mother is the first teacher, indeed ladies are the strongest support to hold families together. Thank you once again ladies! I have really learnt a lot from you.

Its easier to find out the footsteps of fish in water than to understand whats going on in a girl's heart. Well! guys haven't grown to that level still. Keep teaching us ladies. Indeed I have learnt a lot from you.
