20 years for overnight success

I think it was Mukesh Ambani sir who said that the overnight success of Reliance was because of 20 years of persistent hardwork and efforts. No wonder that it takes 14 years to build a Taj Mahal which stands as the epitome and symbol of LOVE till date. Monuments always take time to take shape. So are you building a normal building out of your life or are you aiming at reaching the pinnacles of glory that can be paralleled only by something like Taj Mahal in monuments or Reliance in business?

When we are born, none of us know or even plann as to what we will make out of our lives. As we grow, based on the influence of our environment and our exposure we decide to aim and achieve bigger things in life. In the pursuit of such dreams sometimes we tend to forget that life was meant to be just a path to help us reach from where we are to where we dream to be. We feel that success keeps eluding us in spite of our consistent efforts for years together. No one in this world has been able to estimate the exact amount of time required to traverse the path of experience and learning in the pursuit of achieving dreams. The quicker one gets accustomed to the new learning and adapts himself to the situation the sooner one can be closer to his destiny. This process is what that brings the true INDIVIDUAL out of you who is eligible to hold the realised dreams in his hands. This journey is what that will take a lot of time when the dreams are not ordinary but are BIG enough.

It's a myth that success happens overnight due to luck or fate or by chance. Do you remember any of the lottery ticket winners who has impacted success all around him after winning a lottery? You would have heard of such people who became rich overnight but the memory would have soon faded away for sure. It's not the 20 years of hardwork alone that led to the Reliance empire today, it was the service delivered by Reliance and the large mass of population on the earth that was positively impacted in last 20 years that makes Reliance a household name today and a grand success. I know but I won't do

I know that I have to study well to get good marks but I won't study. I know that I have to perform really well at work but I won't work to my best extent. I know that I need to develop additional skills and keep myself updated but I won't practise the same. I know that I need to research and do market study for my business but I won't do it. All these statements stand only until the deadline approaches near. Until the deadline is decided these statements will continue in our subconscious minds either we knowing/unknowing them consciously.

I can be very sure that this has happened with everyone of us that we sometimes forcibly drag away ourselves from what we are suppose to do. The author of the book 'The War of Art' clearly describes this negative force that keeps us away from our work as 'Resistance'. He also describes in detailed chapters as to how this resistance takes different forms as disinterestedness, sleep, rest, recreation, fun, fear, resultless and other forms. International inspirational speaker and the best selling author Shiv Khera states in his book 'You Can Win' that even winners don't like to wake up early, they also don't like to work hard but still they do irrespective of liking or disliking because the work demands them to. Sometimes its hard to understand that why we ourselves forbid us from working or from continuing to work in spite of knowing the advantages, the rewards that can be achieved by performing action towards our very own work. Probably the visions ahead of our work fail to pull us towards them or the motivation in ourselves fails to push us forward. We see ourselves encompassed by the weakerself in us who dominates us more with fears and distractions. No doubt that we need to fight hard to get out of this entagled prison of feelings and emotions.

The only way to save ourselves from such dangerous situations is by planning an exciting line of work towards a grand vision within short intervals of time. The size of the dream or goal or vision that you visualise for yourself depends upon your imagination. Goals that take too much of time to accomplish sometimes lack lusture to keep us motivated continuously. Hence its very important to design short term goals which can be separated by decent intervals of time and which can be accomplished with calculated amount of work. Only then can you convert 'I know but I won't do' to 'I know that I can do'.

How do Winners think

First of all let me make it clear that winners are not a set of people who are born winners right from birth, I am talking about the winner attitude here. There was a very nice statement that I had heard from my Mathematics lecturer in college 'Everyone is good, everyone is bad, only the percentage varies'. Just elaborating this statement, everyone has every possible attitude inside, the question is which one he/she develops the most and showcases to the world. In this particular blog I would like to talk about the winner attitude which is very essential to lead a life that's worth living. Before I start I would like to quote the famous oneliner of Mr. Shiv Khera - "Winners don't do different things, they do things differently".

Oftentimes we might have noticed around us that there are people for whom nothing is impossible, they seem to have all the energy, all the time, all the knowledge that is required. Its not the question about time or effort or knowledge or intelligence or anything else, its all in the attitude and that is the attitude of a winner. Winners always see the results first in their mind and then bring it into reality irrespective of whether other people agree to their imagination or not. Winners are never taken aback by anyone's lame comments because they are very sure and honest in their trials. Even if they fail in achieving something that was planned, they have the egolessness to accept their mistake and the childlike curiosity to unlearn their faults and relearn the right methods. Winners are not selfish to win only for their ownsake at the cost of hurting someone else. They keep in mind the well-being of their peers before doing anything. Winners know it clearly well that celebrations come for one day after days of hardwork and perseverence. They always know that they will be the winners and that is the reason they behave always like winners. They clearly know that there are never any shortcuts to hardwork. They know very well the consistent consistency that is required to be a winner. They know that the games keep changing and new challenges keep coming up, so they can't rest after winning over few problems of life, they continue to play the game of life and its hurdles as passionately as a kid forever. They clearly understand the mortality of human life and hence strive hard to accomplish and contribute as much as possible in one single life.

How people think is the way how people do things in life. If you have a reason for not doing something, someone else has a reason of doing the same thing. The world can never stop for you, the time is eternal and always ticking and we have a limited amout of time on this planet earth. Lets develop the winner attitude in us which will not just specialise our area of expertise but will expand our credibilities in every field that we step into. I didn't want to use the antonym of winners in this blog because winners don't even like to think about that subject. Their thinking is just pure enough to concentrate on winning.
