Boru kottina, THANK YOU!

Attitude of gratitude can take us to great altitudes of life. Thanking for whatever we have and whatever we have got is a must to lead a satisfying life. Sometime back I was watching the audio launch of a Telugu movie "Iddarammayalatho", where in the hero of the movie stylish star Allu Arjun gave a speech. Initially, he told that generally during such functions people thank cameraman, director, stunt master, choreographer, music composer, technicians and others and it seems boring to the audience. In spite of it being repetitive and boring, he exclaimed that he would do the same boring thing of thanking all the people who had worked for the movie.

Here is where we come to understand the title of the post today. Probably the south Indian audience understands the title being partly in Telugu which is a language of Indian origin. For overseas readers, let me give a brief description of the title. "Boru kottina" in Telugu language means "Even if one gets bored...." Allu Arjun began his speech by thanking everyone though it might seem boring to anyone who has been watching such shows regularly. He explained as to how 300 people come together to work for a movie. The dance masters keep thinking about different variety of steps that they should choreograph for the hero to impress his fans. The music composer keeps researching and experimenting about what kind of songs need to be composed in order to bring life into the movie. Likewise every other person in the entire unit works and gives his/her best to make the movie a grand success while at the end, the hero of the movie takes away most of the credit.

First of all, I appreciate Allu Arjun's attitude of gratitude. Many of the times, we also tend to take certain things for granted and seldom remember to acknowledge or thank or appreciate the help that we receive. It's very important for us to thank God for what He has blessed us with. All people living around us have been in some or the other way responsible for our well-being. We must acknowledge every such person at some or the other occasion. Last but not the least, we must thank our very own souls for being in us and leading us.

I thank each and every reader of mine who has inspired me to write more and more and share my thoughts and ideas. Thank you all once again!

Responses differ at times

The most unpredictable thing on this earth is the mood of a person. You might have experienced it many times that the same friend of yours reacts in different ways for the same thing at different times. The reason is the change in mood of your friend. The teacher comes to class and scolds even the best student for no reason while the same teacher on some other day is cool with the antics of the students. Once again the mood of the teacher was responsible for this contradictory behaviour.

Incidents on a daily basis keep influencing our moods and emotions. The worst part is that they carry their impact on other things that later enter the daily schedule of a person. As a result, the other things face a response which is a carry-over from the earlier experience. It so happens that we are not aware about what kind of a situation that a person has undergone before we go up to him/her to share our thoughts. At such times, the imagination of the response of the person in our mind is much different that that happens in the real scenario. At such times we make a general mistake that we conclude about the character or the attitude of the person which is not completely right. All of us are humans and not hard stones. As a result our moods are bound to swing with varied experiences across a day. So, whenever the response from a person is different from what we expected because of the wrong mood, instead of getting disappointed we should give some time or soothening words to the person to come back to the normal state and then re-narrate our words.

Not just humans, even non-living things respond differently under different circumstances. A very simple example is that of an iron rod which gets bent very easily when heated but is strong as a rock when cold and unbreakable. Understand the situation of a person before evaluating his/her response or attitude. You can feel free to share your feedback on is.mohanbn@gmail.com

Attitude reflects in every sphere

Many times you might have come across people who will say that they are very fast in certain things but not the same at work. There might be other instances as well when you will find people who will have all possible reasons of disinterestedness in studies but will be very much interested in every other activity involving fun. Some claim that they are highly responsible when it comes to personal matters but can't keep up the same in professional matters. These kind of indifferences will be many.
Attitude is something which defines our approach towards any situation in life with definite restrictions. When there are no boundaries in terms of space or time, whatever you do is always right and justified but the moment the rules come into play it's very important to be aware of each of our steps. That's when the real attitude gets tested. The intensity of seriousness that you give in the subject of your interest will be the same as that in the area of your liability. No one likes liabilities for sure but you cannot escape them as well. No matter what, you have to deal with them every now and then. This is the time where in all your minor and tiny attitudes and habits come into picture. For example if you follow punctuality, you will be punctual whether it's a cinema or a board meeting, if you follow speed of action and sense of urgency, the same will show up whether it's in professional work or personal commitment. This is what I mean by attitude reflects in every sphere of life.

So the simple test to evaluate yourself is to observe yourself as to how you respond in any situation that you are in. That will automatically reflect your approach in other situations as well. You don't have to live a decade to understand yourself. All it takes is a few moments of unbiased observation of the self. Hope this blog will be useful for you. You're gifted, be thankful

God has been kind enough on many of us to bless us with all the amenities that we need to carry forward a happy life. He has blessed many of us with good health and a wonderful body with all parts working in proper conditions. There are few differently abled kids of God who also exist among us. The reason for their physical or mental changes might be attributed to genetics or other scientific reasons only by a logical brain. Probably I don't know the answer as to why God created different people with different weaknesses and different strengths though this question keeps passing from one head to the other among homo-sapiens. However, in the busy schedule that we are enrolled into, we seldom find time to ponder over such questions or answers. A man was sad that he had no slippers but became happy when he saw another person without limbs. Probably you might have listened to or read this one-liner many a times. Just be thankful for whatever you're gifted with. No doubt that you cannot find a fully perfect person anywhere on this earth. God has bestowed certain powers and abilities with certain people. Just make use of them which are vested in you in the right manner for the growth of the self and the world around.

It so happened that I had been along with a set of students for a meal donation programme to one of the trusts which took care of physically challenged kids. These kids in the ashram have been taught with the discipline of praying to God before having food. We had served the food that we had taken on to the plates for all the children. There were few kids who were blind, few orphans and few who had a defected growth. I was very happy seeing all these children praying to God before even touching the food right in front of them in the plates. When the guardian asked them to start the prayer, one of the blind girls started a bajan and all the other children followed her and sang the bajan. During this time I observed that one of the girls, who was perfectly fine physically without any defects was not singing the bajan but was making an irritated face towards the girl who had started the bajan. This girl was also started taking the food in front of her little by little and started to eat while all the blind children were singing. At that point, it struck my mind as to how those children who had blindness inflicted upon their lives paid the respects to God honestly while another girl in the same house who was completely gifted with a proper body by God failed to understand the gift of God. I felt pity at the girl's ignorance. No doubt that this is not just the case with this girl alone. It's the same case with many of us who are so busy utilizing all the gifts of God that we forget or ignore to thank Him back.

Friends! a sincere request from my side is to know that everyone of us should have the attitude of gratitude and when it comes to the Almighty, we must have the highest gratitude for the gift of life that He has bestowed upon us. Please share if you have witnessed any such experiences on is.mohanbn@gmail.com

SIMPLE

People who can appease themselves in tense situations without others' help and yet appear simple in nature are quite interesting to write about. Sometimes during functions which are places of display of our richness some austere people show their asceticism whom I call as "simple" which is quite difficult to explain. Still the gaping of on-lookers doesn't attenuate their beliefs in anyway. These are the people who show their assiduous nature in work than showing off with yellow metal. They assuage their hunger for satisfaction in life through their arduous efforts in whatever they do. The apathy shown towards such kind of an attitude by some folks who are more interested in material wealth shows their disapprobation of such behaviour .

Most people who appropriate other men's wealth and aver false claims over it are not respected by the artless 'simple' people. These 'simple' people are audacious enough to challenge anykind of unlawful measures against common people. Post Independnce , India having an autonomous government requires such kind of beneficient people to apprise the common men of their Rights in order to fight against the folk whose smile belies their true nature. These 'simple' people who believe in serving than merely giving bombastic speeches also bolster the scientific world to work for the betterment of common men and help in washing away the banality of the present soceity.
