The environmental influence

I would want to reiterate the same example that my mentor says which is very simple and gives the exact gist of the makeover of our lives. Why does an apple in a refrigerator be fresh? The reason is very simple; it's because of the environment that's provided by the refrigerator to the apple to keep it fresh. This is a very simple example about the environmental influence. Similarly, in our lives also there are more chances for us to get in tune with the kind of environment we are surrounded with.

 

Your character is determined by the 5 people that you spend your time with. This was a statement that I heard almost 3 years back and ever since then, I have made sure that I have spent my time with the 5 chosen people who I believe are as ambitious as me. Once again, even this anecdote speaks about environmental influence. In one of our recent discussions with our team, our technical expert unexpectedly started talking about how the marketing needs to be done for one of our upcoming projects. The same person who would be more concerned on the technical part of the work was here speaking about marketing and that too about the convincing of the customer on the pricing. All the marketing people in the meeting were dumbfounded and were gaping at our tech-expert. When I went back to dig into the reason as to how this unexpected lesson was thrown across, I understood that it was because of the environmental influence.

 

Many a times, our technical team is involved during the discussions of marketing aspects and as a result, even without any practical training, some of the intricate topics of marketing have got subconsciously engraved in the minds of our tech team as well. Just by the environmental influence if a techie can grow to an extent of advising the marketing personnel, I think we must salute the environmental influence cast by great men and women. Just by being around with such people can make us leaders. That's how powerfully this external environmental influence can work wonders in us internally.

Another dream to share

Bodybuilding has been one of my prime areas of focus. I have even written a blog about how self-defence needs to be taught at school level itself. Combining these two fired up one more thought which became one more dream of mine which I want to share with my dear audience today. Today was filled with thoughts and discussions about dreams and hence I am continuing the same tonight.

 

I have searched for bodybuilding tips on internet and have often found most of the websites featuring bodybuilders from different countries other than my own country ie., India. Hence I used to have a dream that I should help Indian bodybuilders to get websites and market themselves and their ideas using the online medium. Probably the same is true in other countries where computer education is a little low. Since physical fitness is very important for a healthy lifestyle, everyone needs to get into physical training. To serve so many customers, obviously there need to be good number of trainers at least in the ratio of 20 customers: 1 trainer. All the people should have access to their trainers websites and gyms for their physical training. To accommodate every single citizen in gyms, there should be a lot of gyms, probably at the rate of every street having a gym. I even read that Arnold Schwarzenegger had once dreamt that there would be more gyms than supermarkets in USA. His dream motivated me as it clearly synced with that of mine.

 

Once there are enough number of gyms such that everyone gets physical training, people become stronger. Most of the parents don't enroll their kids into martial arts or any other self-defence classes because of the fear of their kids getting hurt. Once every kid is strong with daily work-out at the gym and play, even parents shall have more confidence and less fear in enrolling their children for self-defence classes. Eventually our coming generations shall become physically strong and the entire population shall be so strong that there cannot be any physical assault by bullies on anyone since everyone knows how to defend themselves and help others in trouble. People and Planes

Have you ever noticed a conversation between a senior citizen and a young kindergarten child? On one side there is one who is just born to witness the new world and on the other side is the one who has seen probably most of the world by age. Still the communication happens at the plane where both of them are common and that is at the level of the kid. Have you got a chance to be a part of discussions among employees and among employers separately. If you have had such a chance you would have clearly understood the plane at which discussions are held at these two levels. I am just trying to give you a glimpse of what are the different planes of thoughts that the same human being can be a part of. The same senior citizen about whom I talked about in the beginning might be even included in the discussions among employees and employers but the plane of thoughts would be entirely different in each of the three cases.

I am not talking about the different types of communication that happens with different set of people here. I am trying to focus on the psychology that sets the thought process in our mind to run at different altitudes based on our experience and the exposure we are exposed to. People who have read a lot of books, who have interacted with lots of people and who have travelled around lots of places as prescribed by Swami Vivekananda generally tend to have a vast experience in their pocket. The prime reason for them to have put in extra efforts in reading, interacting and travelling a lot is that they want to reach the depth of understanding of every possible thing. These are the kind of people who want to collect as much data as possible to analyse the existing facts so that they can plan well to construct better future for the society. If you observe such people they generally don't have time to gossip around and for non-reproductive work. Even just a 5-minute talk with them can make you understand the level at which they think. They wouldn't be worried about petty problems of paying monthly bills, ego clashes with neighbours or colleagues and so on which are the general daily issues of a common man. The most difficult and profound concepts of human behaviour and global happenings will be the general topics of discussion in such high plane thinking minds. I have tried to touch the extremes of planes of thoughts, talks, discussions between that of a common man and a visionary. I am sure you can guess the
different planes that exist between these two extremes in which we wander through with different people.

A final reminder that I would like to pass on is that whenever there is a difference in the planes of wisdom between two people there is always an argument rather than a fruitful discussion. Just make sure that if you ever get into such a scenario, if you are on the lower plane try to learn and understand from the wiser person whereas on the other hand if you are the wiser of the two try to clearly explain with examples and annotations to the other person and help him/her to rise his/her levels of perception without allowing your impatience or ego to come in between.
