The tuition fever

"Today education has become business." This is one of the most common quotes that I keep consistently hearing from most of the parents. They are bowled over by the amount that gets spent on their children's education. They don't even have an option of not doing it. If they don't spend, the children don't get the required education. Peer pressure has made students demand more out of their parents and, unfortunately, parents are made to yield for the same. While we accept that the normal school education is essential from an authorized body, what about those tutorials which re-teach the same lessons? How are students fighting the tuition fever? Let's discuss more on this.

I have been to tuitions for my under-graduation. Until my tenth grade I used to find that tuition was just waste of time. Post my under-graduation I felt the same as well. But it had become quite crucial for me during the under-graduation time. As I observe the present generation juggling between too many classes it just makes me wonder if they are opting the right decisions. What is tuition? It's a place similar to a class atmosphere where one goes to learn his subjects. Who goes to tutorials? Students who are unable to cope up with the classroom education provided at school/college go to tuitions. This was the earlier definition. Today, students go to tutorials because there are no good and capable teachers available in school/college because the good ones have opened tutorials rather than working for a meagre monthly salary in institutions. With more and more tutorials opening people's mindsets also have got tuned towards tuitions, both that of parents and students (needless to say). Education is not about marks until you enter your competitive exams. It's about understanding the world around. Textbooks have been comprehensively prepared to make sure that students are able understand in the simplest manner. All it takes is good amount of patience and hard work to invest time on reading them. Since students are unable to input these two voluntarily a force is required to enforce the same. That is where tuitions have come into picture and the students have caught the tuition fever.

Today's generation plays with smartphones in its primary standards. In fact, there is no tuition to teach how to use a smartphone. Still kids are able to do it because of the curiosity. It means that kids are able to understand the automated guiding machines like phones, comprehend the instructions and use them. The same needs to be applied to text books. This requires commitment towards studies by the student. He must be ready to read until he understands and practise until he remembers. If the student is able to do this then there is no requirement of tuitions. Time investment coupled with serious commitment is the perfect medication for the tuitions fever which is affecting not the just the child but the parents too.

Daughters and dads; sons and moms

Before I begin, let me make it clear that I am not generalizing anything here. It's just that I am putting across my views regarding my observations of the world around me. (I feel this is a very nice diplomatic way to put across my point.) I have noticed it often that daughters are more close to their dads and sons are more close to their moms and it is vice-verse true as well. Dads' favourites are daughters while the moms' favourites are sons. I am sure that even you would have observed this phenomenon among your circle. As I am completely unaware about this topic, I wanted to write about it to know what I already know but am not aware about as recommended by Steven Pressfield.

Girls are curious to know what the guys talk about while guys are curious to know what the girls talk about. It's an inbuilt curiosity to know about the opposite sex among humans. Remember that curiosity always lies in the unknown. Until extinction of the homo-sapiens you can be sure that the females will always have things to discuss about which the men will never know but always would want to know. The same holds good vice-verse as well. There are certain topics which shall be discussed in a certain way among males that will never reach the females' ears though they want to hear. When it comes to the father-daughter or a mother-son relationship, the same thing holds good. Father being a male can have every idea possible as to how his son would talk, think, react, respond, plan, emote and act at what particular age and in which particular scenario. Similarly even the mom being a female can anticipate every step of her daughter on the lines of female mentality. Even though the same anticipation might not work out exactly still it's pre-decided in the mind of the parents and a feeling of known always prevails which doesn't ask for further interest in finding out the next step. However, when it comes to the criss-cross relationship between a dad and a daughter or a mom and a son, the male and the female mentalities cross paths. As a result both the parties are curious to understand the next step from both the ends.

This willingness to understand more about the other person is what brings relationship closer between people. Whenever a relationship is fostering patience and sympathy towards each other always accompany. As a result it gives a good ground for the relationship to get stronger and more often this happens between people of opposite sex. You might have observed as to how boys are more tolerant towards silly girls and girls are tolerant towards naughty boys. The desire to understand and attract the opposite sex is embedded in the DNA of animals cum humans by the grace of God which is quite difficult to change. Every girl expects her husband to be as protective and possessive of her as her dad and every guy expects his wife to be as caring and lovable as his mother. All these factors sum up together towards making daughters the favourites of their dads and the sons the favourites of their moms. You are totally free to comment about my opinion on

A daily affair

Let me clear the general misconception first. An affair means "anything done or to be done; anything requiring action or effort; business; concern:". I hope I can proceed with a clear picture now. We must know that everyday is precious to us and every affair we take up in a day is as precious as the day itself. So what is this daily affair? We are used to routine monotonous work of doing the same things day after day. How about we add some spice into this!

An affair is just some simple act that you decide to take up. Apart from all the repeated stuff that we are into everyday we can think of some new activity which consumes the least amount of time and energy but still can provide the thrill of having done something new. It can even be a learning of something new. Everytime when you are getting ready to go for a movie that you haven't watched before or the crux of which you don't know there is always some sense of excitment and curiosity about it. If there's an urgent work told by your mom even before going to the movie, you will still complete it quicker because you don't want to miss the movie. The best part is that you carry the same enthusiasm that you have for watching the new movie while doing the work just before the movie even when the work itself is not so exciting. Similarly when you have assigned an affair of a new task for a day which you will be doing in the latter part of the day there will always be an excitement about doing the new thing which will keep you pepped up all throughout the day. This pepped up feeling fills your complete focus in any work that you perform at any point of the day. Moreover having done something new on each day however small the activity is will definitely keep adding to your experience and learning of life.

Since I write a blog everyday before I go to sleep, my mind keeps searching for anything interesting around me all throughout the day because I have a daily affair of coming up with something new in my blogs everyday. This keeps me alert in everything that I am involved in throughout the day. I hope I have executed my daily affair for today with this blog. Would love to know what are the daily affairs that you will be taking up on is.mohanbn@gmail.com

Nothing also has a THING

For past few days when I was writing blogs one after the other day by day there was a strange sense of feeling that I am having no more topics to write. Obviously this couldn't be true because the world doesn't end with just few blogs. The lessons of life which can help us elevate our thinking and attitude are uncountable in number. How could it be even possible that there were no more topics to write upon! That is when I realised the presence of the brick wall. The brick wall which stands as a mental block only to stop us from reaching our best competencies and capacities in order to build our credibilities. My promise to myself to write a blog a day was powerful enough to break this brick wall. I had to cross the temporary mental barrier and move into the world of possibilities. That is when I felt "even Nothing has a THING in it".

Then, when I just gave few seconds about this thought I realised how many times we people give up on continuing forward just because we feel we have tried in every possible way. There is a sense of complacency that blocks our innovativeness to expand more because we assume that we have expanded it enough. Also when there is no success after multiple attempts the belief in finding the solution to the problem at hand decreases exponentially. There is little motivation to better our approach to the challenge and give one more powerful shot at it. There's a gloominess that encompasses our curious thinking and stops us from trying again. This is the time we need to remember that the best chance always stands in the adversity. That is when we have to search for the slightest positive clue that can open the lock of the box of solutions. Nothing is possible on this earth has been an age old adage which has time and again disproved the misconceptions of man. Just keep the optimism on to find your next step when you feel you're stuck.

Try and try again was one of the poems that I had learnt in my schooldays which holds its value from generations to generations. A magician brings out a dove from a cap which was empty just a second before. The audience is just made to believe that the cap was empty. In the same way our surrounding circumstances get built in certain scenarios that we see nothing at first but then just think that you are the magician who has to bring the dove out of the cap. When you feel it's all over that is the time to realise that it's just starting all over again just like the phoenix because even nothing has a THING in it.
