Good
morning all! It was one of the most memorable days today in my life. For the
first time ever in my life, I was invited as a chief guest for an event for MBA
students though I, myself am not a MBA post-graduate. The event was
COMMUNION-2013 at Dr. Ambedkar Institute of Technology, an engineering college
in Bangalore, India. It was an honour to share the dais with prominent
dignitaries who presided over the event. I was invited to deliver an
inspirational speech regarding the most pressing topic 'Career opportunities for Management
Professionals'. I have been into my career only about 3.5 years back and here I was to address people about career opportunities. I should thank the hosts for believing that I could pass on some useful information which I graciously accomplished.
The
event started around 9:30 am in the morning with the conventional inauguration
speech followed by an invocation song by the students of MBA. Dr. B.R.Dwaraki
from RIMS (Ramaiah Institute of Management Sciences) who is a Registrar (evaluations),
was the chief guest for the function along with me. Both of us were introduced
to the audience. Then it was Sri Dwaraki sir's turn to address the audience of
close to 100 MBA students. He was a man with a huge warehouse of knowledge,
wisdom and experience. He brought out some of the best excerpts from his past
and advised the students as to how they need to be prepared for their future.
His speech was highly informative and humourous as well. All the students
enjoyed the sense of humour that sir possessed. He addressed about women
empowerment and the importance of the role of women in our society which won
the hearts of all the girls in the auditorium. He shared some of the most
important lessons that he had assimilated from over 4 decades of his experience
in his profession.
At 11
am, it was time to strike the chord of inspiration and energy and that is when
the IU speaker, Mr. Mohan.B.N (not-being-so-modest) was invited on the stage.
It was once again a pleasure to address the MBA students after addressing the
same stream of students in Krupanidhi School of Management, Adarsh Institute of
Management Studies and Sheshadripuram School of Management Studies. I started
off with how just 1 or 2 degrees of education can't fetch us our dreams. It
requires us to be 360 degrees aware in life in order to materialize every dream
of ours into reality. It's not compulsory for students to pick one out of the
many career opportunities available in the market. It's up to them to decide
what kind of career they want to follow and create an opportunity in that field
of passion. It's not compulsory to pursue just one career in life; one can
pursue multiple careers at the same time. I shared my own example about how I
became a trainer, public speaker, blogger, upcoming author, mentor, counselor
etc in last few years of my life just by following my passion and dreams. This
session served as the ignition to the weapons of talents that students
possessed in them and the purpose of my speech was served.
I
would like to deeply thank the management of Dr.AIT, Smt. Pankajakshi mam, HOD
of MBA department and Arundati Pai mam for making this event happen and for
their utmost hospitality. I also would want to thank all the staff and student
coordinators for their amazing contribution and participation. Last but not the
least, I would like to thank my entire IU team and my mentor for the amazing
support and guidance that they have bestowed on me. As we are towards the end
of this post, I want to reveal the secret behind the title of this post. On the
stage, to my left was Mr. Dwaraki sir who was 71 years of age and to my
right was Mr. Devaraj sir, Chief in-charge of PDP sessions at Dr. AIT who was
62 years of age and I was the young chap seated between these two amazing
gentleman, sharing the stage with them as a chief guest at a tender age of 26.
I just want to thank the Almighty and my parents for all the blessings that are
being showered on me. Thank you God once again!
In today's versatile world there are various fields of your choice. Multiple options infact have created confusion on our minds as to which one to choose. Its a great journey to explore field by field and find the one which suits us. But we are sent on this earth with a limited amount of time and also our age keeps increasing as time passes by. Hence its important to choose our field of career as early as possible. Some enter a field and just get clogged in it and assume that itself as their field of expertise and continue. Probably this is not a blog for such complacent ones.
This blog is a dedication to every fighter who takes up the challenge to reach his/her field of passion inspite of all the odd circumstances around. In this process of chossing the right field some devalue other fields. Either they don't pay the interest that's required since its not their field or give half their efforts. In either of the cases they are at loss because its not the field that's wrong, its the attitude. When you're fighting to take up a career of your passion and in pursuit of it if you are working in another career make sure that you are no less capable even this field. To achieve success in every field hardwork and dedication are the only two things that matter. Above that if you're passionate about the field its an added bonus. So be it any field you are in, even if you are planning to leave it in sometime give your best and prove that you are far capable in handling the work there. If you quit without proving anything people will definitely look down upon you that you were incapable. Forget others, you yourself will feel the guilt of failure at excelling. Its important to have the right positive attitude of excelling in whatever that comes our way. People should feel the pain when you are quitting that field to take up a choice of the field you are passionate about.
Only then you have proved to yourself and others that you could achieve success in any field that you step in. This not only serves as a proof for your professional ethics for others, it serves as a confidence booster for the self. When you can prove to yourself that you can rule the field which you are not passionate about, just imagine how serious and successful you can be in the career of your choice. So whatever field you take up whether you continue or leave it just make sure to prove that you can do it all.

I am born in India which is known for its unity in diversity. There are different cultures all across India. Every state has a unique language of its own. Every hundred kilometers the accent of the language changes within the same state. The food habits are different in different locations of India. Such is the strategic location of the country. Being very small in size still its known as a subcontinent in itself. I feel proud that I am born in this motherland of mine. If you just observe a currency note of India you can understand the diversity of the number of languages printed on it. I have just taken advantage of this.
I used to be really inspired and influenced when I used to watch cinemas wherein the same actor could act in different films of different languages and yet deliver super-solid performances. I definitely have to mention Dr.Kamal Hassan and Padmashri Rajnikanth who have been the highest inspiration in this regard. I used to feel that being multilinguistic meant being multi-talented. I was caught with this craziness of learning different languages and I started executing the same. I started watching films of different languages, started repeating the dialogues of the hero, learnt byheart some of the lyrics only to increase my multilinguistic skills. Friends around me started pulling my leg, ridiculed against this not-so-common-hobby. Some even said that I was killing the other language by trying to learn it. It hurt when those words were spoken but I didn't give up but continued the same. As a result of this craziness of mine, I learnt speaking in Telugu by the time I completed 2nd year of my graduation, by 3rd year completion I had a hold on tamil, by the end of 4th year I could handle a simple conversation in malayalam. I had no idea what this craziness would yield me in future but I was sure of only one thing that following the same was keeping me happy. Since being happy itself is the purpose of life I continued my craziness.
I thank God today for giving such a craziness to me because today this multilingual ability of mine stands as my asset for my career of inspirational speaker. I had wathed a video of Late.Steve Jobs who had mentioned that for succes you need to be crazy because any sane person will give up when he has no logical reason to follow. Only a crazy person would still retry to reach success. Hence endorsing his words I would like to share with all my dear readers to just identify your craziness and follow it irrespective of the criticism around because you never know what God has to offer. Your craziness might be the key to your life's treasure.
